The Sublime Gold Burst is beyond awesome! I have a junk Telecaster body, will try to learn how to do this. The pink and blue SG has that "Miami Vice" vibe....maybe start a band called "Crocket & Tubbs" that guitar would be a must!

Too bad they are so overpriced anymore. I don't know of any working musician now days that can give $5K or more for a guitar to hang on their wall. If I bought a $5k guitar, it would not be on a stage where anybody could grab it and run out the back door. It happens all the time. Also, working musicians barely get enough money to justify playing live anymore. I wasn't in a huge band, but we worked all the time doing 300-5k seat clubs and shows. Sometimes between travel and hotels, we had a 15% profit margin. We always said, SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSICIANS' Do it now !! Most are playing for next to nothing from the club and bar owners, whom are also struggling with making ends meet! Prices always going up!!

That scraped headstock edge is a nice detail I wish we’d see more. That color contrast lighter wood line between the black gloss and natural mahogany is really nice. Ovangkol is a cousin to rosewood.

The inlay on the headstock of that Epiphone Hummingbird made me think of a rolling pin.

The lack of the customshop diamond on the headstock of the koa special was the right move. It looks classy, and the diamonds would be a little out of place.

My Taylor 412 has Ovangkol back and sides. And my D'Angelico Bedford (the cheaper one) has an Ovangkol fretboard, so I think it's close to rosewood. It looks good on my Taylor (like that Epi)..

Yep, Gibson screwed the pooch on the reissue of the 80s Flying V and Explorer because they both originally came with "Dirty Fingers" pickups which BTW Gibson still makes! They could have also offered all the crazy bright color finishes but NOPE, It's Ebony or Alpine White. That's why all my new guitars have ESP or LTD on the headstock!

The LP Custom All Gold looks Stark like some paint scheme you see on certain 50s model cars. The Gold on it looks dark like a double Gold finish would be. I like it as it is though I wonder what it would look like if the hardware and pickups were Gold too. I know you've done it in the past experimenting with your computer changing the color on your site. I also love the looks of the AOk Koa. And I just noticed that AOK backwards is Koa.

The Matt Heafy Origins and the Jerry Cantrell Prophecy are some of the best value for the money you can get if you are looking for a versatile Les Paul. The Fishman pickups do a fantastic job, you get a 25.5" scale and a 7 string option for the Origin and the Prophecy custom is a 24 fret on a regular 24.75" scale 😊 Killer guitars for under $1500 USD.

That SG is "that bad" unless, of course, you're a member of Josie & the Pussycats... while I can admire the electronics, it looks like a B- movie prop, or perhaps it casually leans against the vanity in Barbie's Dream House... but then I've never really favored guitar finishes that emulate Hot Wheels cars. 😉😊

I've heard of a "Les Paul Gold Top" for decades....but...a gold back? The acoustics are interesting. The only problem is that not enough A-line celebrities played them on a full time basis, especially after 1970. They're a step above Guild, but not even close with Marin.
