I agree with your perception of the book. The great thing about the Mythographic series is the varying styles of the different artist that contribute. Another book will always be available soon. Never-the-less, ...you're brave. Certain resources used within the coloring book community seem to be sacred. Openly expressing personal dislike of a newly released Mythographic Book feels taboo, although it shouldn't. 💜💜💜💜💜💜 Sending much love your way.

Hi, Kori! This is a parcel of nightmares for me! . I don't really know how to explain, but ... well, this is ... not 'right' somehow. Then there's sooo much detail, so many tiny lines, my eyes were going crazy. I only stuck it to the end because I wanted to have your reaction and not judge it on a few. Also, as a couple of others have said, it definitely has an OTT (over the top) AI feel to it. BTW: it isn't the mythological aspect of it - I used to know all the Greek mythology, and quite a lot of the Nordic, because we covered it in Literature at school, and I remember a lot of it. Stonkingly good to read! I recognise some of these creatures as over-done versions. The multi-eyed dog - a take on Cerberus, the multi-headed animal who guarded the gates of Hades, for example. But this book has just left me feeling (literally) sick. Hope you get your refund!

l feel the same. Not only about the details but about the illustrations, and l'm also interested in mythology (greek and roman). I've seen other books flips from that "series", but l feel ill-at-ease with this one.

I love this one!!! I do not color in the hidden image ones anymore. I only keep the newer ones. And so far this is in my top 3. I have not colored in a year from my depression. And this made me pull my pencils out.

I like it, I honestly feel like on the overall it is less complicated than some of the other mythographic books. However I am very much into mythical beats and lore so, that could be why I like this one. Thanks for the flip through!

I would do 13 pages. However, I will buy it, after the price goes down. I've been doing this on all the Mythographic books. Only because none of them would be a completed book. At $8 or $10 a piece, I would buy without batting an eye. Thanks for the flip-through!

I really liked this one! I already own the entire collection and I can say that there are others that I own that I was not too thrilled about and that I will only color a few pages from them but I am OK with that. I also have books that when I first got them I did not like but as time goes by I go back to them and they are actually not so bad to me now lol. Have a gr8 day!

not sure how you're defining "overcomplicated" but i personally found this to be one of the best mythographic books of how creative the artwork is. the ones by fabiana and joseph c. often feel too similar to stuff kerby rosanes has already released. shame it didn't resonate with you, but life is too short to spend it on a coloring book that doesn't draw you in, pun intended

I did flip through it at Walmart this last Saturday. I didn't look at all the pages but it was a nope just seeing the few I saw. Now that I look at your flip through I am thankful I didn't give in. It looks like a bestiary with the cockatrice, chimera, phoenix, the Greek mythology monsters (I spotted at least 3). I think the three headed bird is meant to be an Ellén Thechend… so they would be vulture heads? Not sure about what they all are, but I kind of like it I think.

I don’t like the book but, I had a feeling that I wouldn’t simply from the title. Beasts are not my thing. Creeps me out. Thinks for the flip through. There was a part of me that was thinking it might be some cutesy beasts and maybe I’ll like it. Nope definitely freaked out. But, happy for those that like it. We must have something for everyone!

It's a good thing I watched this flipthrough, because I'm not feeling this one at all either. Some pages even look like they would go way better in Mythogoria than this series. Btw, if you haven't gotten the ones from Alessandra Fussi yet, I really recommend you check them out. She has a very lovely style in my opinion. I only have Shangri-La and Dreamweaver of hers, but they have easily become my two favorite Mythographic books, and she is my favorite Mythographic artist for sure now. I love Fabiana Attanasio and Joseph Catembang's work a lot too, but wow, her style just totally speaks to me for some reason.

I love mythology so this one is pretty cool imo. I agree some of them are kind of detailed and complicated, but since I color Kerby books, I don't really feel super intimidated by it. It's not my favorite Mythographic book I've seen but I love quite a few pages. I don't know if I like it enough to buy it, though. I don't think I liked enough of the pages for me to justify buying it, since I have to like more than half of them.

Hi Kori. Weronika Kolinska is a new Mythographic artist. She came out with another one not too long ago called The Crystal Kingdom. I am still not quite sure how I feel about her work yet, but some of it I do like. I kind of like the Crystal book better. I agree that if some items were taken out, they would be amazing. Hi Kori, I didnt buy this one yet . I love the mythographic books ( mainly of course catimbang and attanasio) and this one is beautiful in some illustrations ,but to me many of them are too repetitive even inside the book (I suppose the illustrator didnt know more mythical beasts lol. if you see adam fisher´s book theres a lot of them ) Coloring books in my country are very expensive then I think that this one is going to wait till it has a very good price because isnt one of my favourites.( waiting to buy when I can the wild summer because that one is gorgeous) thank you for showing us.

I know you didn’t like a lot of the creatures, but the majority (if not all) were creatures based off of mythology. The artist didn’t just make up the creatures. I know you said it was busy and I agree with that, but in terms of the creatures they are based on something else, which if you like that kind of stuff is really cool. For example, the scorpion tail, lion body, and human face is a manticore.

When it comes to Mythographic books, I pass on them. I bought the astrology themed one and haven't colored in it yet. The images are so busy I don't find them enjoyable to color. But the artwork is always amazing.

This book has been on my wish list for months and I was really exited to get it. And then I saw a flip through on someone's channel and didnt't like the illustrations at all. Now I've seen your flip through and... dislike them even more. I'm not a Mythographic fan, but I wanted this particular book because it is mythology related. For me this looks like AI (it's not, but it looks like it): weird creatures; chaotic lines... It's a pity but, hey... there are more books coming. Fingers crossed.
