I had a fixure that used these bulbs and I had to throw it away because I couldn't find the bulbs anymore. It was very old, probably from the 70s. I ran 2 bulbs and then just ran 1 bulb because I thought they might be phasing them out. And sure enough, I was right. The fixture was falling apart anyway, so it wasn't too much of a loss. Thanks for sharing! 💡💡💡

20W T12 tubes are nice. In Europe they were usually connected two in series, running on a single ballast on 230 Volts. The same ballast could run one 40W tube or two 20W tubes in series.

It is even possible to run a pair of F20T12 tubes in series on a North American F40T12 preheat ballast as well, but it is not as efficient on a 120 or 127v mains supply due to the additional losses that would come with the autotransformer that is inside such ballasts. It is especially sad that T12 tubes have been largely banned in Europe and sadly, even T8 tubes are getting banned in Europe as well. I also understand that Lumicon is a Mexican subsidiary of Advance.

Nice tubes, I have a lighting fixture over my workbench which I can switch on in individual pairs. One set are worn out and replaced with the slim line tubes but the other pair are still the original fatter tubes as they are not used as much.

The 31 is a production line stamp, so what machine made them at the factory. Nice pre alto lamps by the way, 1990s Philips lamps are pretty good.

How do you read those date of creation tag things like I've got a few tubes like this and one of them says C1 what does that translate to and how could I translate it myself?
