Haha, yes, like coming out of officer's camp and ready to lead the troops! Definitely due to education and status put into a privileged position where they would learn fast.

Thanks for that. I read (somewhere) that rich Roman teenage boys were given a "Ganymede" to basically serve as sex slaves for them, the origin of the word Catamite. Is that accurate, and if so, do we know if it was common?
