The lesson of the movie is: Being a father doesn't mean to be biologically connected to a child. The emotion of father evolves when a man is ready to nurture a child like a diamond & wants to keep safe it from all outside troubles. In one of the initial scenes when Rin holds his dress to show her approval to stay with him, she actually understood that this is the man who's suitable to be her father. If he wanted he could give up by leaving her somewhere alone to get rid of her; but rather he kept struggling between his work & child upbringing. The ending could be better by showing Daikchi & Kouki's marriage.
