A Brief History of the Destruction class in Honkai Star Rail

I think Destruction was _supposed_ to be a "bruiser"-type DPS class: They take a lot of damage, they do a lot of damage. That's why many of them have mechanics utilizing their HP or relative tankiness, and why they have the second-highest base aggro in the game, only behind Preservation. But not all of them fit cohesively into that, since not all of them have HP mechanics or taunts or counters. If anything, Destruction is the Path with the identity crisis, not Nihility; at least all Nihility units have the Path's signature debuffs, even if they utilize them in different ways.

Just a note. Ice is getting a new unit in, and I'm quoting the name, "The Herta." Herta's real self. She is still Ice and Erudition. Still compared to the absolute waterfall of fire units we've been getting, it's a drop in the bucket.

Misha works great as a break DPS actually! Because his Ult hits so many times, he does a ton of weakness bar damage. He can hit a respectable 100k on single target, fairly impressive for a 4 star and my best option for ice DPS outside of pure fiction, cus I don’t have jingliu

You missed that Arlan’s Skill doesn’t consume SP. That’s the only reason he could possibly be useful nowadays, since he’s a DPS that’s by definition SP neutral unless you use his basic, where he gains 1 SP. No 5* units are as SP neutral as him without Eidolons iirc. I don’t know where he’d BE useful for that but it’s still a detail you missed.

Actually 🤓 during beta he was so over powered everyone used arlong and they nerfed him to the ground because of this

They overtuned him in the beta and then they nerfed him so hard that without significant investment and god rolls on literally every piece of gear he has, Arlan just can't keep up with any DPS unit. Even Hook and Dan Heng can out perform him with much less investment.

Xueyi is a crit dps? Hwr entire kit is based on break effect, she has a passive that gives her extra attack if she has mlre than a certain ammount of break effect. Sure she's being carried by superbreak but her kit is kinda made for break
