Hi, Sheena. In a way, yes. But the questions that QCA ask is - what conditions (IV) need to exist for an outcome (DV)? which is different from a hypothesis - is there a significant positive relation between IV and DV? You can find some articles that use both methods on Google Scholar. I have also included one in the Description section above.
