Hey Matt. Good stuff. I enjoy watching a sickle bar work. It's relaxing. And the haybine too for that matter lol. Enjoyed it. Take care👍

Just a suggestion, when installing those lynch pins, install from tractor side and flip the ring towards the equipment. Tall grass can catch those and unlock them, yes it does happen if you're in tall grass. Last thing you want is the equipment unhooking itself while in use. Pitman arms, are really easy to make yourself, made plenty for our old JD #5 Mowed a lot of hay with a JD #5 and a JD 450 9ft sickle mowers, later upgraded to a JD 1209 MoCo. MoCo was great for dry weather, the sickle mowers, more of an "iffy" type of weather.

It's been a long time since I saw anyone use a sickle bar mower! The skid steer mounted mower is my choice!

I had a bush hog brush mower that my dad bought new 30 plus years ago. I used that mostly to mow any fields up until I had a catastrophic failure with it earlier this summer so I'm using what I have until I decide to buy a new brush mower. But what I was doing in this video the sickle mower would have been my choice anyways.

@@Cobbhillfarms Nothing lasts forever and eventually it's time to replace. I have been guilty of keeping old stuff going for far too long!

No grass rod on the end of sickle ? I cut small patch of hay with Farmall C two point sickle mower mounted. It doesnt like wet grass.

Nope no swather board on the end of the sickle. I generally use that only for mowing under fences and ditch banks. The swather board would just get in the way.
