I think this interpretation was only deduced from his in-depth reading of notes, never influenced from other's performance. Very unique and great!

I have never heard a performance from Mravinsky that was anything other than riveting. This account of Bruckner 7 is fascinating, not without faults in orchestral playing (the violin intonation is at times wayward, and the brass lacks finesse to say the least), but the interpretation is very committed.

Interesting reading, but - sorry to say this - the brass sounds quite rude. For Bruckner this is totally over the top

Modern orchestras are pretty much interchangeable. This is recording is from an era where orchestras could actually develop unique regional sounds. Different style, maybe recording balance plays a role. You can take it or leave it, but it is a musical conception the music can easily bear. What is "over the top for Bruckner" anyway? Did Bruckner himself tell you?
