I have confident on Ripple Effect supporting Portal for a very long time then DICE Stockholm with BF5. But who knows, this is more of a beast for them to even handle then BF4 CTE.

I can’t believe everything is already unlocked for portal and way less exp I thought portal was going to be it but they fucking ruined it. I want to earn shit while playing not have everything unlocked .. play for levels .. fucking trash

@@pureh2oh92 Their were a bunch of people creating XP bots community servers through portal to cheese all the achievements. Which already require DICE to put a nerf to XP gain to can get into portal. Which is ironic because BF2 have a solution to this decades ago. All of the guns your playing in BFBC2 and BF3 is already given to you. The attachments you can just throw on at will. You're playing Portal to not unlock weapons but to unlock XP to level up for All Out Warfare. Which portal now being treated as a Gimmick instead as this ultimate love letter to Battlefield fans. So what the hell is gonna keep people their long term?! I guess modders on BF2 and BF3 can do more of that job then DICE themselves. Plus how the hell they manage to F UP two old classic games? all they have to do was fleshes out the graphics and that it. They really didn't need to import 2042 gameplay with BF3 and BFBC2. They gameplays for those games were already prefect, why they ruined it. It pretty apparent with BFBC2 Portal, they added RNG bullet spread instead of normal bullet deviation if you hold on the trigger. So full auto is completed useless and you have to burst fire for all the guns. If I thought the revive mechanics was gonna be fix in Portal after they mess it up in the main game, I was sadly mistaken. I thought it was gonna be cool see the defib again. But If their someone dead on the ground and their body even touches the side of a fence or a wall AT ALL. You can't revive them. Its a bug they apparently miss showing their don't even any QA their own games. Animations were just rip from 2042, so they just half ass their. All it does show that the developers who currently working on Battlefield, have no idea how to make a proper Battlefield game anymore. it just night and day if you play those game before and you play the portal. Utter disaster and a wasted of a good mode

I’m worried that this game is getting overhyped. We’ve seen it 100 times before. The more they hype it up, the more excited people get, the more of a let down it will be. I’m sure it won’t be nearly as broken as Cyberpunk or as dry as a new COD but I just feel like it won’t be nearly as great as they make it seem and it’ll lose it’s luster almost immediately after release. A game to be played for a while then revisited after they update it

@@MrUniq I disagree, this is only launch, they'll be adding way more guns and customization in future updates, this is only the beginning. We have over 70 guns in portal too, technically they're not bf 2042 guns but we will get more.

This game is terrible! There's no defending this abysmal outdated "thing"... two game modes for 110 US Dollars 🤦 DICE fell off. They have no clue how to make Battlefield game's anymore. We can all see that in Portal

I've already heard a rumor that they're going to add two New portal maps each season ino new all-out warfare maps and there's going to be four seasons in the first years that's still 8 new portal maps if that's is what it's going to be I would like to see some stuff from battlefield Vietnam in battlefield 1

as someone with far too many hours in the arma 3 editor, i wasnt expecting portal to be close to that. but not even being able to have all guns on different factions? or only being able to edit tdm and ffa rules? not the big modes that people WANT to edit the rules of? god i hope they add that functionality to the portal

Portal - a huge reason to get BF2042. I don't agree with your premature comments on Portal. BF1942 for example only had a few fixed unit classes, weapons and maps in the base game - DLCs added some more maps later on. And the editor is far more powerful than you seem to realize. Maybe you should have spent more time in it before rushing this superficial video out. Given Portal's massive scale, built in customization and under the hood tools - Dice will definitely add additional functionality - hopefully full modding support and maps and content in future for Portal. I agree with your comments on the basic play modes - I personally am definitely not interested in creating crazy game modes like mixed period battles etc.but nice to know the flexibility is there.

Look I’d agree with you if there was any confirmation at all that we will be getting more functionality and more classic content in portal. My opinion is, I hope we will, but I’m not optimistic. Also I agree that portal is powerful, but it’s massively nerfed and restricted on certain modes. The lack of persistent servers is a massive issue. Portal has not and may never reach its full potential. Also I’m not sure if you’ve heard, but custom portal modes have already had XP disabled because of farming. There’s no confirmation on if or when this will even come back.

@@BillyEatWorld- I really doubt that Dice and Dice LA aka Ripple Effect would have gone to so much trouble and done so much work to let Portal fail or fade away - it is definitely the backbone of a future much broader BF sandbox modding development / experience - to build a much bigger content base and long term brand loyalty. Afa as "custom portal modes have already had XP disabled because of farming" - I thought that would happen when I first heard the announcement I assumed it would be hugely abused to get quick unlocks etc. So that's a good thing. Amazing how quickly the developers can now make changes with the server side / backend configs!

Tom Henderson has said that Portal was envisioned by former DICE creatives back around 2014. EA should have made Portal the frontrunner in their marketing campaign and announced it as the tooling for orchestrating a Battlefield Universe.

You're drunk. Portal has more game modes, options, weapons, and maps than the base game. Portal will be the most populated mode. Most franchise veterans are only buying the game for portal. I'm looking forwards to defibrillators and knives only servers, and goofy game modes.

I'm not sure if you watched the whole video, but the point of the video is that portal is great... but it needs restrictions removed. Meme modes won't last, especially considering there isn't going to be persistent servers. My experience with the mixed era and meme modes I played this week was that they were borderline unplayable after one game. Look some people are going to like that stuff, but the majority of the playerbase is going to stick with AOW or more classic stuff in portal.

Yo I played it all day.....I can't believe the same people who made the past battlefield games made this one. They completely commited suicide with this game. Even the whole specialist thing didn't even work well. Specialists are all pretty useless. Iv been playing battlefield for years since bfbc1 and I'm wrapping it up. The maps all play like orbital. Bfv blows this game out of the water. Battlefield 2042 is lifeless and will go dry in less than a month for most average players.

Any game trying to be all things to all players is never going to succeed at being any one specific thing. If you go in there for one aspect of the game then be prepared to be disappointed with limited content. If you get this to play one of three main modes then you are only going to play 1/3 of the game. Personally I think it's a terrible idea from DICE to go down this route. The game feels like it has no identity in itself. It's just a love-letter to the past with a few shiny things tacked on. IMO.

There is no planned support for rules editor coming to conquest or rush. This makes portal mode useless because no one buys battlefield for tdm. The things you can change in conquest and rush is extremely limited.

Creating content is portal is one thing, gaining players to play your content is another issue. WHats the point in the time investment if you play with bots. This portal content will be led by content creators with an audience. I can’t see portal lasting.

@@FEWGEE1 I am and I am completely turned off by their "All out Warfare" and "hazard Zone" Modes and I had hopes for Portal but Im looking at whats on offer day 1 and there simply just isnt enough Content for me Why should I Buy BF 2042 for 80 CAD to play part of BC2 with some sort of Joke Defib only spin if I could just go play BC2 on Steam and have More content... thats part of the problem for me.

There needs to be access to all guns in portal no matter what. Unless, someone makes a “custom game” with only certain guns. You should be able to take your favorite load out anywhere, imo.

Even portal has disappointed me. I genuinely feel battlefield is gonna be a dead IP. The flying feels horrible, almost like they were a after thought
