@@TanksEncyclopediaYT technically wouldn’t it be track-cum-wheel if you meant cum as in “with” since the wheels are secondary to the tracks? Also shouldn’t you have just used “with” and not “cum”? 😂

Object 911 Operator: What is your emergency? Soviet Vehicle Designer: I'm having an AFV identity crisis! Part of me wants to create a freewheeling chariot that will race over the USSR's highways like a gliding thoroughbred, but the other part of me- the serious adult part- desires a pugnacious tracked hedgehog that would exert brute force. And I couldn't choose, so... I.... created an abomination! Operator: You came up with a vehicular chimera?! Designer: Yes... I'm going to be punished aren't I?

@@comentedonakeyboard Perhaps New Zealand should join in on the "expropriation" trend in turn. It's only fair, "what's yours is mine, what's mine is also mine", and all that. Such would be more valuable than the aforementioned royalties. Hehehehehe!

@@comentedonakeyboard Preferably focused on more useful stuff, but sure, as a "monument" to the "new policy", a jade-topped "Kiwi Kremlin" could be erected as an "expropriation center". NOTE: This isn't to suggest an abandonment of capitalism or liberty (what's left of it in New Zealand anyways), but rather a sort of intellectual property "asset forfeiture", focused on the "state IP" of the criminal Soviet regime. Say, like the M72 Ural Motorcycle, which is a licensed copy of the BMW original from the Nazi era, and the technical/manufacturing drawings are in fact available online. A few have been made from the ground up by private individuals, and copies are mass produced in far more unsophisticated settings than New Zealand, so why shouldn't the Kiwis give it a go? Spoils of the Cold War!

Everybody talking about the retractable wheels, but the truly crazy part is how the infantry are supposed to exit down apparently a slide. Is it an IFV or a playground?
@cavemanlovesmoke43942 жыл бұрын
Because it protects against incoming fire when disaster strikes etc - like a built in foxhole and if wounded/injured will be easier too.
@matthiuskoenig33782 жыл бұрын
a similar design was used for the BMDs and the BMP-3, the biggest issue is not dismounting (which is similar speeds to other designs) but remounting is slower (but that wouldn't be an issue for soviet doctrine, as units were supposed to leapfrog eachother)
