I can 100% guarantee on the statement "DO IT DO IT DO IT, It will slowly transform you". A piece of evidence from my recent achievement. In the beginning, a task that seems very simple, I failed terribly but I did not stop trying. Rather than being worried about failures, I started to focus on the tiny improvements every day. After almost 15 days of continuous try, I successfully achieved it, and it's evolving to better quality every day since then.

For me... time is only part of the 3rd dimension that is limited by time and space, which are both part of the same. In the material/3D dimension we can perceive things little by little, second y second... But 4th dimensional things can be perceived by our mind from the future or past, they are seen at once in the 4th dimension where time doesn't exist and space doesn't make sense. When you say "the beginning" That's only part of 3rd dimension which have time. The beginning is the start of only the 3rd dimension, and is hard for our material brains to comprehend a dimension with no time.

If you are an "eternal" being, why would you have a beginning? The question asked by the young Buddhist indicates he knows little about his path. This point is covered in the suttas. Any knowledgeable teacher would know the answer. However, dwelling on this question is an impediment to awakening. Contrary to Sadhguru, vipassana IS asking questions, but the right questions. Those are questions about your beliefs and comparing them to the Dhamma. Vipassana must be balanced by samatha. It is normal to ask, "What was my origin?" But, it is not a helpful question if your intent is to awaken.

Yes, yes!!! Just Do It!!! (I doubt Nike understood it on this level!) When thinking about things I have done that I did not understand previous to doing it, without any instruction, I realize that the act of doing it gave me an understanding that questions and answers could never have explained, and that could not possibly match the level of understanding I attained from "just doing it". Instructions given in words and pictures are not enough to give a proper understanding. This is why the ancient Egyptians used hieroglyphs - they are NOT a primitive form of language, but a "language" that represents what words and sentences cannot, and the great thing about hieroglyphs is that each time a person "reads" them, the MORE they get from them. Back in ancient times, a person learned more and more from the same hieroglyphs the older they got. Giving instruction to someone who thinks they know everything takes many more hours to get them to the place where people who don't assume they know everything are already at.

After many years of practicing meditation, the questions disappeared from my mind because I started to understand who I am (and there is nothing extraordinary about it). The closer we get to our real essence the more we feel at peace and stop being curious because there is an inner peace that is all that really matters. During meditation, even in the lesser states of consciousness, the questions dissolve. And in the deepest states of consciousness, doubts do not survive. No question can be asked and all the answers are given.

It was a great question....so profound that the audience went quiet for a moment and then started applauding. I think the answer can be found in a video by Mr. Hans Wilhem called "Spirit, soul and human being". Here he explains that we were all pure, selflessly loving spirit beings residing in heaven world but due to our desire or karma, for e.g. thinking of being equal to God or selfishness, we fell to a lower realm and were called fallen souls. The tendency of any being is to return to home, so to expedite our return to heaven world the fallen souls are given opportunity to reduce their karmic burden through human body. The soul cant suffer so can't get rid of karmic burden. But if it enters human body, then it can reduce karmic burden through suffering so that its return to heaven world is expedited. It makes sense too, because when one himself suffers he easily empathizes with sufferings of others and tries to help them. Many of the NGOs or individuals who strive to help the society have themselves, or their loved one, suffered. So by helping others they can reduce their karmic burden.

Vipassana Meditation teaches us self transformation through self observation. This aim is achievable through noble silence. In this process unnecessary questions can be hindrance but one is free to ask any question related to the technique to the teacher. In the evening session Respected Goenka Guruji explains in detail what and why one is doing. There is no blind faith involved. So to say Vipassana means don't ask any question, just sit and do it, is totally wrong. In fact it is the most scientific and free from any sectarianism. There is no chanting of any word or name or mantra, no any visualisation, it teaches one to be an observer of his thoughts and sensations objectively. These kind of questions may sound highly intellectual but are impotent to transform oneself or help him towards Nibbana, therefore Vipassana teachers don't give them any importance. If one's aim is to have spiritual entertainment then internet is full of these things. From this video it seems that prejudice is not the monopoly of common man only.

Yes it is a great question, and in my opinion it is outside of Sadhguru's area of understanding. I like the guy, and it's fine to not know the answer to something, but his inability to ever say "I don't know" and his attempt to dodge intelligent questions by insulting the questionaire and making the crowd laugh can become a bit unnerving. Perhaps it's worth rephrasing the kid's question, before some smartass Sadhguru fan attacks me the same way the kid got attacked. If someone's soul/atma is an eternal thing (as Hinduism etc. suppose) , then what brings forth the first instance of an atman on our planet? (perhaps the kid got misunderstood when he said the "first birth" - he meant the first birth of the soul, not the first birth of the human body, which is what Sadhguru was answering. Cheers Sadhguru, but we already know the theory of evolution).

@@A._.A._. I fully agree with your response to Sadguru’s so called answer. At times “I know all attitude “ of Sadguru is highly disappointing.
@shivamrajak81203 жыл бұрын
@@A._.A._. I'll just copy paste what I typed in as a response to another person about what I understood from the video maybe it will help you. What I understood from what sadhguru said is your karma is not something that just has an effect on you it has an effect on entire cosmos also. For example people usually say if you do bad karma bad things will happen to you, but that bad thing will require an agent also that will ultimately do bad to you. It maybe a person an wild animal or even a lightning may fall upon you depending upon what cosmos decides based on everybody's karma. So what Sadhguru said was according to yogic stories shakti danced around shiva and the universe began, he also said that we cannot confirm what exactly happened but thing is something must have happened that's why we are here. What ever happened at that point started a chain reaction of action and reaction (or to say karma and it's effect) In one of his lecture sadhguru talked about what adiyogi told his seven disciples. Adiyogi told that humans have 114 chakras because we are on this planet earth at a certain distance from the sun and at a certain distance from moon in a certain solar system, have we been on a different planet in a different solar system our bodies would have different number of chakras. In short life happened on the earth the way it is as an effect of all the celestial bodies or entities in this universe. It is also the same thing what modern science tells us that life on earth was possible because we are at certain distance from our sun, moon etc. So to sum up life on earth is the effect of the celestial bodies in this cosmos (maybe celestial beings or cosmic being also who knows) and these celestial bodies are in turn the effect of initiation of the universe (shakti dancing around shiva as per yogic stories) I believe why sadhguru didn't gave a clear answer and only hinted the answer because then people will ask why did shakti danced around shiva. But ultimately it doesn't matter what exactly happened at that point, what matters is it did happened.

@@shivamrajak8120 Thanks for your response. One important aspect is that we can talk about all the actions and reactions that took place after the "Big Bang" (or however one might want to call it), and the more details we give, the more intellectual we might seem. But after all that had been said, we will still not be able to explain how the very beginning came to happen (as you said, "we cannot confirm what exactly happened"). My point with that comment is that Sadhguru should not be ashamed to say "we don't know what happened", because that's the whole point of "Shiva" and "Shakti" themselves: THEY ARE A MYSTERY WE HUMANS CAN'T EXPLAIN. Instead, Sadhguru tried to hide behind intellectual scientific theories and to insult the questionnair.
@shivamrajak81203 жыл бұрын
@@A._.A._. One may call it hiding behind the science bt the thing is you cannot talk to a Japanese person in french. Unless you both know a common language communication won't happen. Also what we expect as a valid explanation to a question should be based on our own previous experiences. Suppose one day someone give you an explanation that he believes things are like this because he can see sound, would you completely agree with him? Also it maybe possible the way in which he is perceving sound don't actually matches with any of our current way of perceiving the world like seeing, tasting, touching etc. So ultimately he knows what he knows but don't have a word or language or a way of communicating to you not because he lacks something but because you don't have a necessary level of perception. Here only thing can be done is get into the same level of perception first then maybe one won't even need to ask a question.

Feels like he gave a glimpse of the true knowledge he has and everyone went like he didn't answer the question...

I listened his answer a few times and I got it. He actually answered the question but we're not getting it cuz it is not in the context the way we expected it to be....
