The interesting thing about buying/owning a Ferrari is the lack of care Ferrari gives about its customers.
Typically, not caring about your customers is the kiss of death for almost any other brand.
But if I decide to stop buying Ferraris, there are fifty people behind me in line to take my place. I know that, they know that. So if I want to buy new Ferraris, I have to put up with it.
In fact, just posting this could put me at jeopardy with Ferrari corporate. It could cost me 15 years worth of buying history with the brand. They don’t take criticism well.
But I love their cars. And I really like the people at my local store. They try hard to do the right thing, even though Ferrari corporate screws them too.
So three months ago, I get a call from a police officer in Salt Lake City. It goes like this:
Officer: “is this Supercar_Ron?”
Me: “Why yes it is” (thinking they finally figured out I’m on the FBI most wanted list)
Officer: “do you own a 2022 Ferrari SF90 Stradale?”
Me: “I do”
Officer: “do you know where it is?”
Me: “I thought I did, but now I’m not so sure”
Officer: “let me tell you a little story”
Apparently a drunk guy threw a rock through the front window and walked around the store until he found the keys to a brand new Ferrari 488 Pista. He really wanted to take the car for a joyride but there were four other Cars blocking his exit. My SF90 Stradale was one of them. So he decided to use the Pista as a battering ram to move those cars so he could Ferris Buehler the Pista through the front glass and go show his buddies.
The following video is the result of those efforts.
Now let me cut to the chase: after screwing around with the dealerships stupid insurance company, Ken Garff dealers did the right thing and saved me a bunch of time and pain and made me whole on this car. It was going to take 18 months to repair! Ouch. But thank you to Rob and Dan and Davis for helping me resolve this issue very quickly.
Sad to see my SF90 go, but excited for the next one coming my way!
