A Bushcraft Anniversary: It has been a year so far on KZbin. I just wanted to thank all who have supported me and watched me grow, as well as the new that have come aboard to join me.
I'm looking forward to a another wonderful year of adventures to bring you along.
A special thanks to Uberleben for their fantastic Kettle and Bunch of Campers LTD sparkling Ferro Rod.
This has been a dedication to a long loyal friend who has been by the side of my mate for quite a bit of time, Sneezy the Cat.
Note: I actually use Baking powder, and that's what the tiny tin marked BP was for the Bannock.
Please excuse the color tones, my camera is on repair so I had to film with my phone and couldn't get the settings right.

Hello all, thanks for joining me on this year of adventure! Note: I used Baking powder and not "Baking soda" in the Bannock. A Freudian slip of thought. Please make certain to read the description, for there are extra notes in there for you all. Cheers

Hello mate, as in all businesses one must advertise and it costs money to do so. I do not wish to pay for views as big channels do. It doesn’t matter the quality or your content, how long you have been doing this or your talent, as long as you pay for views you can have as many as your funds will allow. You have to pay to get your video to the top of the algorithm . You can get 1 million views in one day if you have enough money to fund that video, and in-turn more views makes more subscribers. I have seen channels funding thousands to pump up a video to get very high viewer volume and loose their investment. Even if you have 100,000 subscribers only half will watch and 50,000 views, and you only get about $20 from KZbin after all the effort one puts into it. That’s why the best revenue for KZbin channels to grow is Patreon. I want my channel to grow, however, the main focus is the love and sharing of what I enjoy, and if I can make some money to help sustain the channel, whilst enjoying what I do, it would be worth it. Well that is the reality of KZbin. Thanks for championing my channel. Cheers💪

As far as food, I suppose when you have the right combination of beautiful scenery, tasty food, good lodgings and the ability to produce all these things, you are thriving. Indeed, my staff has assisted, not only to stabilise me, protect me from snakes, but it has also been a canopy pole and a river depth gauge, just to name a few. Not too sure why I didn’t finish watching this one.... I’ve said it before but I have to say it again, that sure is a beautiful spot of woods you have up there. When hunting season starts will hunters be there?
@TheLoreofBushcraft
@TheLoreofBushcraft 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris, I'm so honoured that you watched it. The landscape inspired me to film and continue to venture out there. Hunting is not allowed in the State Park, yet there is some wilderness to the west of there that allows hunting. The signs are posted and if I venture in there during the season of course I wear vest inside out that displays orange. I saw you released a new video, can't wait to see it. I also filmed a video about a month ago a mess kit (German World War II style) you would love it for your collection. I'll see you in a bit on your channel bubby.

Something I'd like to see is how you perform clean-up of your pots, pans and utensils. Is this a washing process or just a wipe-off and go? It's the one part of my outdoor activities that I've never really liked nor come up with a good idea for.
@TheLoreofBushcraft
@TheLoreofBushcraft 3 жыл бұрын
Tom, I use Moss, Gravel and Water (like a scouring pad) if I need it, sometimes even dirt. When I'm at a stream or creek, I dunk it and use Moss or a cloth. Sometimes I just rinse it, and others like my Pan I try to always leave a light coating oil on it (I've never used soap on it), matter of fact I've never used soap on any of my outdoor utensils, cookware or plateware. When you reuse it the heat sanitises it. I'm sure you can see that method used in my Winter Solo video series. And, I'll make a point to show it to you in the near future. Hope this helps

Thank you brother! Well, I have always made rather savory bannock or just a little sweet. These ones came out quite phenomenal! I actually used baking powder, not baking soda (as annotated in the video) in error. These will be a staple, because I usually have the ingredients on me when I'm out. Thanks for inspiring me to make sweet cake versions. Yours looked super yummy and I was going to do bannock anyway, but I never thought to do it in such a sweet manner. Cheers

That's a sweet looking shelter! I've been using mesh tent for the pesky slugs! Always feels like a burden bringing tent just for 1 annoying creature. Do you spray your gear with anything like bug repellent?
@TheLoreofBushcraft
@TheLoreofBushcraft 2 жыл бұрын
Hi there Paul, I spray my clothes and pack with permethrin. My summer shirts are usually Craghopper with insect shield. I also use Bug Dope on my skin. I'm more concerned about Ticks. But if I'm going into a really buggy environment that's filled with mosquitoes and midges, I will hammock camp that has a net. I even have a Head net that I used to always bring as mandatory equipment, but then I realised I never use it.

Hello Darien, It's an 18-in pack basket. I had to do some modifications on it, so just took out part of the base and the top rim I cut and made it shorter. I find if the space is full in the pack you don't need a basket. I find the absence of a basket most useful in the winter when I have more kit to carry. There's the link below mate! Well the Pack carries as if you have a 12-year-old kid hanging off your back with dead weight. Everyone who has the pack tries to alter it to get it to carry better, but to no avail. What has helped is that I put a pack basket inside of it to give it some rigidity. I did end up replacing it with the Boreal Bushcraft Pack because it was designed with carry ability as the priority. It has a lumbar support pad and the structure has a back insert. The overall design is just better, however, you do need the belt and the lumbar support and those cost extra, bringing the pat to nearly $900 us and it takes months to receive because they are made to order. I've added a couple of links to the pack so you can see it in action. Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers kzbin.info/www/bejne/nna6n5p8fridh6s kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2SranR_oZKWp5Y
