Been meaning to say how much we enjoy and appreciate these interesting videos of one of the more unique seaways in the world. If I lived closer I’d be there every day! From memory you can also feel the engine sounds in certain positions. Goliath of interest was involved with a collision into two tug boats in the Mersey River Devonport, January 2022. Always looking forward to your future videos👏

radio traffic makes this more interesting than similar vids🙂
@daff.wallace22677 ай бұрын
Yes I try to catch the radio calls live, but the wind , surf and people come and talk next to me when I am taking video. So I just do the best I can.

Some footage of the pilots climbing down the ladder as they disembarked close to shore.

Hi Daff - is your camera auto tracking the ships from shore (which I assume is in or above the pilot station opposite the Vue Grand)?
@daff.wallace2267 Жыл бұрын
No hand use on tripod. Taken at Point Lonsdale.

That surprises me Daff because in a few shots you show the jetty that runs out from the pilot station that's on the Melbourne side of the the old Queenscliff fort.@@daff.wallace2267

The pier is the Lonsdale pier a lot larger than the pilot pier. @@davidholder3207

where is it mate? 'the heads'??
@daff.wallace22675 ай бұрын
Port Phillip Heads are in Victoria, Australia. Point Lonsdale is one side, Point Nepean the other, the entrance between these two headlands is what is locally known the heads.

maybe lower the sea volume and make radio traffic more audible
@daff.wallace22676 ай бұрын
The radio is resting against the camera lens, it is not jacked into the camera as it has no speaker jack. So I cannot mute one for the other. It really relies on the angle of the mic in relation to the wind direction. I have tried a few variations on mic types and not had any better results, sorry. @edenhunter9904
