Just something I forgot to add in todays video. I luckily didn’t get Covid in the end , and felt much better the day after. 3 of our family did catch it that week but everyone got cleared just b4 Christmas. Big thank you to everyone for all the messages and well wishes we got over Christmas. Very kind and much appreciated by our whole family. Have a great 2022 everyone 👍

Hi Adrian! Just wanted to say that I really look forward to seeing your videos pop up on my subscription list throughout the week! I really enjoy watching you farm and hearing about how you manage your cattle and the rest of your family farm! I am also a dairy farmer, just on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. I quite frequently watch your videos and then take some of the things that you do and see if I can apply it to what I am doing! -Alex

Hi Adrian I hope you and the family feel better soon . Watch this space Nicole will be running your farm soon she did a great job with no fear of the animals but a good respect of them and you could see her watching them because you never know . I remember we had an old pet of a cow too but one day she drew a puck on me and was coming back for the second one when my dad hoped a gate and scared her away . A horrible thing to happen but it taught me a lesson I will never forget.
@IFarmWeFarm
@IFarmWeFarm 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree, you have to be very careful of pet cattle, we have a lot more of them this last few years as the kids have pampered them from birth, it’s definitely not always a good thing as they have no fear of anyone and can easily throw the weight about. Just have to have one eye on them at all times

great to see Nicole helping you more and she seems to know what she is doing,one thing i learnt when i young was off the stockman when working with the pet calves was not to scratch their head / face and but to scratch their shoulder or top of their tail, as when the calves got older they could look for getting scratched and give me a hard thump with their head, not meaning to do it they were just looking for been scratched

I asked in an older video so forgive the repeat, but any recommendations for a compact tractor type? In Kildare so need service as a reality (not some odd import) and would be for hauling trailer for logs, adding tractor mixer, pulling a topper (if that's possible). All new to this life....just can't afford a new tractor and can't tell the good Massey 135s from the bad!

I could do with a pair of clippers for my tails on my cattle, I find they are so expensive. You could do with a good application gun to give the right measure easier. So I understand there is a weight scale which adjusts the correct amount, for the cattle what I think is clever.

I'm sure a man like your self who has every thing ship shape and Bristol fashion ... Would have a solution taught out in short time.. Ya rotavirus is a though one too, you can vaccinate for it but I would hold off a year or two, we got a positive test on 3 calves that had a Snow White solid dung that would turn to scour eventually, spread quite quickly too but natural yogurt sorted them. That was about 8-9 years ago. Never had it since .
