I got my Seminole pumpkin seeds from the people who bred the South Anna Butternut. I still have one of the pumpkins I grew from those seeds in 2019. Hasn't rotted yet.

I planted about 80 plants 5-6 years ago ( Waltham ). I was not aware of powdery mildew. Boy, was that a disappointing season! Now, this variety has me interested again.

Definitely should give South Anna a try!

I am going to plant the South Anna Butternut also. I saw it on one of your video's back in the winter. Have my seed already. A little early here in Tn. I may start some in trays in the next couple of days like you did. I have never tried it before, just direct seeded as you say you have done. I am looking forward to see how they do. Hoping for a bountiful harvest for you and i !!!!!!

Nice quick meal... I'm doing it wrong. I just wore myself out chopping up a butternut squash, put it in a bowl, mixed up with melted butter & oil, plus seasonings. Spread on cookie sheet, popped in oven 400* for 40mins. I want an easy way to just pop it into the oven and bake. Now I have L0TS of seeds!! Need to know how to plant and harvest. Thanks for this video.

All you have to do is slice the butternut squash in half (top to bottom), scoop seeds out, then butter it all up and then bake. No need to dice it up before cooking. Once it's cooked...then you can dice it up and enjoy. I do my acorn squash the same exact way. The cut side can be facing up or down...either way.

Have you or anyone grown honeybaby (not honeynut!) squash? How is it to grow, and eat!

Have not tried it, but have heard great things about those honey nut squash.

That butternut squash is the easiest to grow and we eat it all winter. We always grow it from seed in the Black soil of Northern Illinois

I live in south florida and for some reason the Seminole pumpkins i bought from amazon didnt grow as good as i was hopen. I think the reason though is cause i bought them from just random chick off amazon and they werent good seeds maybe. Ill have to buy the ones yall offer and give those a try. Hopefully i have better luck with them.
@gardeningwithhoss4 жыл бұрын
Gotta be careful buying seeds from random folks on Amazon. All our seeds are germ-tested every 9 months and stored in a climate-controlled room.
@heatherreis78394 жыл бұрын
@@gardeningwithhoss wish i woulda heard bout yall before i had purchased them. It was a few months ago i got em and im serious when i say half the freaking things either didnt sprout at all or they would grow a little and be mowed down by bugs and i spent like 15 bucks between the purchase of the seeds themselves and the shipping.

Please Help! I have 1 month only zucchini and the borer is Killing my plants. Do you have an organic product in your site to treat and save my plants ??
@gardeningwithhoss4 жыл бұрын
Spinosad will help. But if the borers are already doing damage, it's probably too late. Start spraying early the next time you plant squash.
@christiensgarden33254 жыл бұрын
Do deer eat them?
@gardeningwithhoss4 жыл бұрын
They might. But we don't have any deer pressure in our gardens here. Our properties are surrounded by thousands of acres of commercial farmland, so not a ton of deer habitat right near the garden.

I tried growing Acorn Squash, Howden Pumpkin and New England Sugar Pie Pumpkins last summer/fall and had so many vine borers and squash bugs I didn't get a dog gone thing from my plants! :( I'ma try it again, but I'll wait until next spring instead of summer/fall. Hopefully they'll do better. I do have some Seminole Pumpkin seeds I want to try, but no room in the garden allocated for them at this time. Hell, I may just remove some grass in the front yard and plant them anyway. :) Why not?!?

Guys, Love your videos. I spent about an hour going through your seed selection and picked the seeds i wanted to try especially the triple sweet corn only to come find out you guys don't ship out of country. Is this an error or do you guys not ship international. Thanks
@gardeningwithhoss4 жыл бұрын
Shipping seeds internationally can be tough because each country has its own restrictions and documents required to do so.
