A/C Box removal for a 2nd Generation Camaro

Shown on my 1979 Z28 Camaro. I will go thru the steps to easily remove your A/C and heater box from your firewall to either upgrade with a new one or free up a tone of room in your engine bay.
Warning early on I mention the removal being easier on later model years but mine had been modified which appeared different than expected but it should be the same on all 2nd gens.

Your inner fender is installed on the outside of the fender. Originally, they are installed with the outer fender over the inner fender

The inside half of the evaporator box (the half closest to the engine) is busted/cracked on my ‘78. Would you consider selling the one you took off?

What fid uou do with the hoses that went to the box? Did you plug them or reline them? If you plugged them gow did you go about doing that?

Not sure which end you are referring to so I'll answer for both. The place the hose connects on the intake and the water pump I was able to find aluminum/steel plugs on Amazon they screw in with an Allen wrench you just have to be sure to wrap the threads in Teflon tape. The size for yours might be different than mine so I'd buy an assortment. Now where the hose connects into the firewall there is the inner AC box that just needs to be removed which will pull the pipes with it and then a firewall block plate can be bought online.
