Oral reports sound like a great idea. Do you have an example of how you kids would write it out then present one?

I just try to let them use a basic outline form and we work on that as we go! No example really...sorry!

Just wanted to say your baby is so beautiful n a blessing n thank you so much! This is my 1st yr of homeschooling period n with A.C.E. I really like it this far however I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I had figured at beginning as you had advised. Calculated all pages n so forth n came out with 2.8 presale day. We do a 180 day school schedule in regular school thought I'd keep on that schedule we r Just going into our 8th week in 1st qtr. N both children r in the 3rd pace'(1053 for 5th grader) I'm concerned about them finnishing up b4 time so I backed them to 2 pages a day. Of course some days r 3 cause of check ups r something of the like. I have them read books just as in school n planned on written reports. Wasn't sure of the oral but you sure help! Thank you, thank you! Not bragging one bit but both children were A A/B honor roll as well as perfect attend. N my 5th grader st a 8th grade level. We stopped him there on the placement test b/c he was already 3 grades up. I was told to keep him at his grade level. He alright through books. With understanding! Very proud of him. His sister as well! I'm also having them practice penmanship b/c they don't teach it in school anymore. Do you have any advice for us? Do you see anything I might need to add r change? Would b much appreciated. Thank you!!!!

So the reports are what they give in order to be on level. So they write an outline and then stand up and give a speech based off the outline. Then my husband and I share if they said “um,” what they could do differently with their hands, how to make eye contact...things like that. They don’t get a grade but they do get privilege levels if they present a report using an outline format. My school did different reports. I remember taking a saddle to show a “how to report!”

Your kids have to be on A privilege to go to the bathroom?

No. Not to go. But to do it without permission…just like being a supervisor at a job gives you “more power” to schedule things. It may sound silly but it’s real life!
