Your video was perfect for my situation. I have a 2012 Avalanche, and needed to recalibrate the AC system - I'm sure it was the Blend Door Actuators... I had tried two or three procedures found on KZbin, but they didn't work. I think because they weren't meant for my exact Avalanche system. Your procedure worked on the first try! Thank you!!!

Any tips or tricks for my 2015 Silverado? Used to have ice cold ac. Now seems like in the morning it will blow cold but will stop blowing cold after a while. One of the passenger side vents blows cooler than the driver side. It has refrigerant in the system. Thx in advance!
@VinylVillageGarage8 ай бұрын
I would check the Freon level. I know when the dual climate control hit the market when it was low you had that problem I can’t say for certain it’s the same on 2015 Silverado but worth investigating
@JVScustoms8 ай бұрын
Yeah I checked it it’s got refrigerant. And the condenser is know to leak on these 14-16 but I’ve already had that replaced when I bought it new. Thanks for your response brother, I’ll keep trying some other stuff I guess
@VinylVillageGarage8 ай бұрын
@@JVScustoms no problem, I did some investigating it seems the Freon level being low can cause a difference in temperature side to side especially on higher heat days on the Silverado. If you don’t find anything else. It’s worth trying an Evac and recharge with the recommended Freon charge.

@@VinylVillageGarageman thanks for that! Going that extra mile for me, doing research and actually trying to help. Man that says a lot about you my man. I will definitely look into that. My buddy has one of those expensive snap on scan tools I was thinking of seeing if he could calibrate the blend doors with it. He helped me when I had to clean the blade in my throttle body, with it he was able to calibrate the throttle blade and tps sensor. Thanks again man for not just blowing me off. New sub here

I had to change an vent actuator thinking that would do both passenger and driver side but still I wasn't getting heat, after I did this recalibration process I was able to get heat from the driver side which it was the actuator that I had replaced, now I will change the passenger side one that it's more difficult to do. But thanks for the video. It worked great.
@VinylVillageGarage2 жыл бұрын
Glad it helped, when my truck malfunctioned I didn’t know what to do, then I learned how simple a recalibration was and felt it needed to shared.
@chandlerpetersen12449 ай бұрын
Do you think your problem was just needing calibration or did you actually have a bad actuator?
@antoniopadilla88159 ай бұрын
@chandlerpetersen1244 Well, after a few days from doing the calibration, it happened again. I can only get heat from one side at the time. So I don't think it is an actuator issue. Now I just live with it like that. If I'm alone in my truck, I crank the heat to the driver side to 90 and put the passenger to 85. This way, I get heat, but if I'm riding with a passenger, I will crank the passenger side to 90 and put the driver side to 85, so the passenger side gets heat...🤷♂️.

Will this work for the heater as well? my AC blows cold. My heater gives nothing.
@VinylVillageGarage3 ай бұрын
Possibly, it will reset and position things back into their correct locations. So if your blend doors are stuck on cold it will reset them to go to heat
@Shannon-zn2kc Жыл бұрын
So could I use my scan tool to reset as well? Changed my actuator, blower motor, and resistor. Still warm air on passenger
@VinylVillageGarage Жыл бұрын
Not sure, I haven’t tried with a scan tool. Pulling the fuse puts it into learn mode and should work. Unless there is some other fault causing it to calibrate which in turn might set a code that you might be able to get with a scan tool.
@Shannon-zn2kc Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I’ll definitely try your method today and let you know because I see I have 3 fuses that deal with the hvac. I’ll pull all 3
@Shannon-zn2kc Жыл бұрын
So I tried this and now my driver side isn’t blowing heat at all and my passenger side is still blowing cold air. So I might have to try this again. I waited 60 seconds and then waited 2 minutes instead of 1.

@VinylVillageGarage2 ай бұрын
If it won’t calibrate it has to have a part that is not working, it will most likely have set a code in the body control module, if you have a scanner that will do more than just engine codes you could look into that for help. You might have a faulty blend door motor or wiring issue

Ok I have a question. What does it mean if the ac works without even hitting the ac button? Then sometimes when I'm driving cold air stops and it's nothing but hot air on the driver side only. And if everything is off but the setting is on vents, I can feel air blowing through when I drive. I suspect the module but I'm not to familiar with how everything's set up. Definitely gonna try the fuse though.
@VinylVillageGarage Жыл бұрын
Can’t air I have messed with one with those symptoms. Definitely sounds like the module is malfunctioning internally or loosing power or ground supply randomly
@ErickODonnell Жыл бұрын
@@VinylVillageGarage I did the reset by pulling the fuses and it worked! Air still comes through while I'm driving but I'm able to press the recirculate button, even when everything is off, and it stops the air from coming through. I can live with it this way. Thank you for the help. 👍

@@VinylVillageGarage thanks, glad to hear. I'm going back and forth between the 1stgen and 2nd, due to the afm issue. Will the disabler eliminate that possibility if I install one right away?

@@bikes7777 I would 100 percent use a disabler right away, they do work! I have a 2008 Avalanche LT and I had my mechanic swap in a fresh motor from GM!
