Thank you so much for posting these videos I Am A 42-year-old single female with little to no mechanical knowledge LOL 😆 I mean I can change a Tire and Oil but that's about it... Being only a week after Christmas & a legit single mother (kids father passed away) & my oldest birthday in less than 2 weeks every penny i can scrape up comes out to be less than $100 and had me feeling pretty bummed & stressed especially since temps dropped to extreme lows 2 days ago. All i was hoping n praying for was a fair shot at an attempt to not only provide my kids with a warm vehicle to school each morning but also 1 their mother could actually see out the windshield of bcuz it had become down right dangerous with the freezing 🥶 Temps windshield wasn't thawing no matter how long I "warmed" the car up😔feeling almost defeated I gave it 1 last shot n started googling and there u were!! My saving grace!!! Thank u so much for posting these videos!!! Fixing my cars blower motor as we speak!! U rock!! Keep the awesome content coming!!💚

Chris, it's been 6 years since you posted this. And recently my car started taking forever to warm up the air now that's it's cold out. First thing I remembered was this video that I watched a good 3-4 years ago. I just wanted to say thank you! My car now has hot air blowing during these cold mornings/evenings! It turned out that my car was just low on anifreeze/coolant. Thankfully, it's all that the car needed. No, I don't have a leak, it just normal evaporation that exits from the reservoir. But it also shows how often I look under the hood, and this situation reminded me that it was past due that I checked under the hood. Thanks again!

This is the first time that I have seen your work. It is clear and concise. Good Job! It recaps many things that I have learned over the years and adds more to the mix. Because of this, I have recommended this video in particular to my daughter. Like many young people her reaction was, "well, I have to go to the dealership for diagnostics, so why should I watch this?" What I told her and advice that I would give to anyone is that sometimes people lie. It is always a good idea to have some understanding of a situation before you go in.

This is seriously one of the best automotive tutorial videos I’ve seen. As someone without A lot of automotive experience, I often have a hard time figuring out which parts are which and videos are often either too dark or not clear enough to help. This was crystal clear and Now my heater is working again after a month of trying to figure it out on my own. Hooray!! My heater valve doesn’t look anything like the one in the video but your description and visuals were clear enough that I was able to locate mine and reattach the cable. Thank you.

I replaced the heater core and blend door in my '97 Ford F150 and now there is no heat. I was already looking at the actuator under the dash and now I have even more useful info to determine the cause and I'm confident I can fix it without pulling the entire dash. Thanks again!

Thank you for this video Chris. My brothers used to race cars and taught me when I was young how to fix my own cars. I changed a water pump and for the life of me. I could not get the temp above 110 and only cold air inside. Air Lock! After getting Tourettes and then, up to and including writing a very strongly worded letter to GMC, I finally calmed down and looked closer and realized I was not getting water into my heater core which was not allowing water to the T-stat, so it would not open allowing more coolant in. And then I found your video. I do feel better after writing GMC, but I probably should have looked here first. I am sure some engineer that gets paid $375,000.00 a year is feeling like a total loser after reading what I wrote.

My car about five months ago stopped blowing hot air. I floored it and it came back on and hadn’t stopped working ever again for five months until now. I tried flooring it over and over and it just wasn’t working. I can’t believe he mentioned revving your car might work lmao. Now I know my problem.

THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN INFORMATIVE VIDEO. IM A 46 year old widow and having this exact issue but on a very tight budget. Currently I am stranded due to a snow storm combined with no heat making it dangerous since I cannot see through the windshield due to ice. Sadly im stuck until tomorrow afternoon when hopefully some sunshine will allow me to complete my 2 hour journey home but I cannot wait to follow your instructions and get my heat working again. My poor dog is shivering so bad. That’s the hardest part for me. We are soooooo cold but you’ve given me some hope so we never have to go through this again. Thanks again. Jami

THANKS so much, I believe you covered all the bases. Gotta admit I never saw using an ohm meter to check the resistance of the fluid.

So, you did a pretty damn good on explaining how each of the components of the "H" AND "V" in the HVAC system works. As a mechanic myself, I'm impressed. Hell, you even learned me something! I didn't know about the use of a multimeter to check the coolant. Pretty 'cool'..... I saved your channel on my wife's account(this one) for when I'm not home.....

It is a Male on a females account. But even so why exactly couldn't a woman or girl as you put it be a car mechanic? I work on my own cars just fine I mean really with some witts and common sense really it isn't that hard so long as you have the tools, parts, know how and will to do it. I mean my gosh this is the 21 century let's get off the girls can't do what guys do crap. I mean honestly.......... 🤐🙄🤯👩‍🔧👩‍🔧👩‍🔧

Still a great video to this day. I went through the complete video, replaced the blower motor resistor per the symptoms. The blower continued acting screwy throughout the different switch positions, then finally found that the culprit was the actual fan speed switch contacts had welded closed in the high speed position. Replaced the switch, and voila! Fan speeds work again! Thanks a bunch for stepping us through the entire system, definitely makes troubleshooting easy when you know how something is supposed to work. 👍

This is Gold right now. Even though you tried to keep the video as short as possible, it is really well explained. I learned a few things, and I feel more confident about fixing my truck’s heating issue now.

Don’t forget about the Cabin Air Filter(s). Even my mom could check/change those 👍👍. I like to check the easiest fix first. Lol. My problem was poor air flow, but I had heat so maybe that’s why it wasn’t mentioned in this particular video. I used to fix planes, but never had ANY desire to work on cars. But in this day and age, it’s time to start doing car stuff myself. Some problems are things that people can do themselves. There is so much info on the internet it’s crazy not to at least search for a simple solution. 👍. I never knew there were filters right inside my glovebox 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. As I changed them, I wondered “I wonder how many people have been charged 100s of dollars to have their heating fixed and had no idea all the shop did was change the filter(s)!!” This video is SO informative and done very well!!! Even if a person doesn’t want to work on their own vehicle, it’s still a great idea to know how things should work and what the different parts are for. You explain normal and abnormal operation so well and do a fantastic job of showing us where the parts are!! And how to troubleshoot!! Changing the air filters helped my problem a lot. But this video has given me so much basic knowledge about the system operation that I feel confident I can troubleshoot and fix/change parts in the future if needed. It has also helped me to realize I really should pop the hood more often and look at some of these things every now and then myself. It’s so easy to let things go in the busy world we live in. But the few minutes to check some stuff can save many hours, headaches, and $$$$ later on down the road 👍👍👍. This is the first video of yours I have seen, but I will be subscribing! Thank you for being awesome and sharing your knowledge!! You are a great instructor 👍.
