I love this series. I don't believe Pope Francis would disagree with one word and probably teach in a similar vein eventhogh he is Catholic. I think it is time the more than 30 thousand churches worldwide stopped criticising each other and find unity in our common belief that Christ Jesus Son of the living God is our Lord and Saviour.

@ pastor Mike Mazzalongo Good lesson! However, I have a question. In the book of Acts - around chapter 9(I think- sorry I don't have my bible around me and I'm bad with numbers) Its says that The apostle shaved his head, and did the ceremonial washings,and in another had Timothy circumsized, because Timothy was half Jew...in both situations, why did he do them, it doesn't avail anything? I've been in asked this by others as well as asked myself, only to be honest and admit I didn't know but I'm sure it had it's purpose. I've heard the new perspective in Paul by NT wright.and EP Sanders- And don't agree with it. Because it sounds arrogant, like they can figure out the why if something, that people back then didn't even fully understand, so how could NT wright or Sanders know?..I will wait your reply. I'm sure you know where in Acts I'm referring to...if not let me know,and I'll find the scripture for you. Thanks in advance!

In Acts 16:1-5 Luke says that Paul circumcised Timothy. He did this because he was bringing Timothy with him on his missionary journey. Since Paul usually entered the local synagogues to preach in each town and Timothy was to accompany him there, Timothy (having a Greek father) needed to be circumcised in order to enter with him because those who were uncircumcised were not permitted to enter. Paul did this as a matter of expediency (to facilitate his ministry) and not as a matter of salvation (circumcision is not necessary to be saved). All of Paul’s observations of Jewish customs or laws were done in service to his ministry of the gospel.He explains this in 1Corinthians 9:19-23. - MM
