I’m a Sunday school teacher at the Salvation Army church and I also work in our homeless shelter. And I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had a resident come up to me discouraged after they have tried to do good for a week or 2 and they ask why God isn’t changing their lives. This is the lesson I have been searching for to share with them. Thank you my brother in Christ for sharing this.

I always have trouble finding a church, I don't trust the congregation. I guess I fall into the category of it's me and JESUS..

God's design is that we be connected to a local assembly of Believers. We encourage you to keep looking for a church, and allow God to direct you to a local congregation. there is no perfect church, but we have a perfect Savior. Trust Him to lead you and guide you to a church. You will be blessed!

Trust me, nothing like the fellowship of a church family, having people that love you and Love God and will always be there for you. I use to believe that I could get just as close to God from my home, but there is a reason he calls the church his Bride. My grandmother once told me this about church when I said the same thing you said, she said "Would you rather go to church with them or to hell with them" no matter what evil exist all around us, but if your covered by the blood of Christ you are protected. I pray you have found a church home. 35 years ago I said I would NEVER go back to church. Twenty years ago next month I was invited to church. I could not believe what I was experiencing. I was guided to a small group within the church and found unbelievable support. I had been the king of my own world but was soooo humbled by the Holy Spirit. I now lead a small group and encourage every one to get into a small group. Confidential, supportive, non-judgmental, Christ loving. My only regret is that I will not live long enough to learn everything about God, but I have a great relationship with Jesus.I am free.
