Do not stand around wavering as if you were uncertain whether God or the flesh is the better master, whether sin or holiness is the better way, or whether heaven or hell is the better result. Away with your former lusts, and immediately, unceasingly, and wholeheartedly resolve! Do not be of one mind one day and of another mind the next, but be done with the world, and resolvedly give up yourselves and all that you have to God. Before Satan has time to distract you or entice you to change your mind, take a stand for God! You will never truly turn until you resolve, and do so with a firm, unchangeable decision.

I fear that I have no one to pray for me.. just cannot believe that Jesus will ever save me..I have been in constant torture for the past 15 yrs..I am no closer than I was..I fear it may be too late for me...

Kathy, you know we are saved if we place our faith in Jesus, right? If you do not believe that Jesus will save you, you are not trusting Jesus, which is the only way to be saved. Kathy, Jesus is trustworthy. Trust Him for salvation. He will not fail those who trust Him. Instead of endless questions, only trust. Refuse to question. Fling yourself on Jesus, and trust that He truly takes away sin. Abandon all "human wisdom" and empty promises of the world, and instead commit yourself only to Jesus. Let Him be everything to you.

Why would Baxter say God cannot save us against our will? 4:55:11 Isn't God sovereign over our own will?

Baxter believes that God is sovereign … but he also believes men have a choice and God in his sovereignty allows men to exercise their own will.

I'm an hour and twenty minutes in, and now I'm thinking I'm unconverted, even though I listened to another book by J. C. Ryle that convinced me I was converted. I don't even know at this point. I hate this world, my life, my sinful flesh, I hate all sin; I want nothing from this despicable world, but I also know nothing of the Holy Spirit or of heavenly things. I don't know God's love, and I can't say I want heaven or eternal life, even though I know it has to be amazing. To me, it seems what I might actually want is to die, and to return to the nothingness of before I was born. Maybe even that's a delusion. I feel like it's impossible for me to live for God, and that I could never live up to Jesus' words. I feel hopeless. I'm not worthy of the Kingdom of God; I'm fit for the dung heap, for Gehenna. I believe in God and Christ how the demons do; I know it's all real, but I condemn myself, and there's no way around it in my mind. I can't just believe that I'm predestined for salvation in Christ. I pray everyday and call God Father, but why do I always exclude myself? It's like I'm living a lie because I'd probably just kill myself if I ever gave it up. If I turn from God, there's nowhere else for me to go, it's all just horrible. And maybe I'm just the biggest idiot in the world worrying about all this stuff when I actually am saved. It's enough to make me crazy. Something is definitely wrong with me.

I don't know if you're converted or not, but for sure, none of us are worthy. And I think it is a noble thing to wrestle with, whether one is saved or not. Nothing matters more. But how we are saved is by looking to and following Christ, is it not? From this audiobook: _Having bought you at such a precious cost as the blood of His Son Jesus Christ, and having made you such a free and general promise of pardon, grace, and everlasting glory, He commands us to offer all this to you as the gift of God, and to plead with you to consider the necessity and worth of what He offers._

The fact that it bothers you is evidence that you are born again. Keep your priority to read the scriptures. Gratitude and thanks for promises will prevail. Birth is a process and a lot of anguish before that realisation that you can see your fingers and toes as a babe and you will grow up to a fuller knowledge of your father as you feed on his word, the Bible. Being as we live in a post Christian world with a lot of attacks on Christians , it’s wise to learn from people who preach the whole council of God. If you can’t get to a faithful church then tune into one like Alister Begg , Truth for Life, or Many others through The Gosple Coalition, many great sermons available through Sermon Audio. A person who isn’t born again is not bothered. Priority number one is get a copy of the scriptures and listen to those who first love God and teach because of that. Don’t rely on one man and two books, rely on Gods promises. Read Hebrews, Luke, Acts , Romans often and find out about covenant theology that helps bolt all those great promises together expresses in the diamond Book of Ephesians….😊 Get a copy of The Blue Letter Bible app as it has a lot of helps.
