@@raultrashlord4404I would disagree with that a little... yes, the style became the trend, so people made products that looked like that in order to get sales, but, technology was supposed to become our friendly ally in everything that we wanted to accomplish. All the bright colors and non-traditional shapes were to convey that we could get serious work done (and be taken seriously), without adhering to a rigid, corporate, business shirt and tie presentation like the previous generations. Anyway, just my take on a small aspect of a much bigger picture.

@@tygerk2372 Steve Jobs returned to Apple, released the first iMac in Bondi Blue color and the rest is history. That one computer also helped the mass adoption of USB as a standard, moving away from legacy PS/2 ports, printer COM ports and ADB ports. Plus it changed the perception of computer from utilitarian tool to a fashion accessory with its various color releases over the years. Almost every other market began to offer different colors of their products to capitalize on that idea, including the humble George Forman grill.

So many people are disappointed for what they thought the future would be like. But we can forget that life is flexible enough to change all the time. The effort we put into change often comes back to us. If you are disappointed in the future just remember you can change it before it even happens. You have enough control over today as you did yesterday and tomorrow. Go back into life and look at it from a childish view you haven't used in a long time and see that it is still there. I believe in you all, good luck!

@03:49 :: I needed to hear this. My best friend at work, worked with them for nearly 10 years, worked through Covid, got to know either other so well, same sense of humour, same work ethic, left today, got offered a great job in another country. I cried, I actually cried in front of everyone. I am working late, listening to this and the song sounded exactly like how I feel, in the office at night, alone, sad, I started crying again.

can someone explain frutiger aero to me, I'm at the aquatic ambiance track but am a bit confused at what styles or motifs unify the genre. I'll edit my comment once i finish the mix edit: I'm halfway done but took some free form notes for y'all. minimal editing disclaimer i’m comparing it to vaporwave since it’s my only anchor liminal nostalgic but not as the main focus clearness and crispness compared to vaporwave’s muffled, sedated tendencies of depicting downtroddenness, sedated tendencies through deteriorated media. While there is still evidence in the aging media motifs present in frutiger aero, it feels a little more well adjusted, or less self destructive as a coping mechanism Vaporwave’s arguments are ‘these utopias never existed, stolen from us and we can’t get back, or lied about their existence completely’, frutiger aero seems to describe a childhood bed you grew out of, ‘we know where it is, it’s just like we remembered, we can freely visit, but we can’t fit back in it’ a proper childhood room vs the hectic nature of 80s (we often hear people who grew up then take pride in the danger or lack of supervision) a good or proper childhood, but nevertheless bittersweetness toward growing up. contrasted with the desperation, irony, anti-capitalist satire from vaporwave's commentary on lost innocence via a stolen future basically more utopian? no better symbol for humanity reached utopia than clean oceans and clear skies nature always seems constrained and utilitarian architecture, signifying it’s still rooted in modern tendencies of taming nature rather than seeing ourselves as part of it repeating patterns and tessellation as 3d games were more prominent in the style of aero, contrasted with a cable tv / cinema imagery from vaporwave regarding the digital universes they create, more of a pastoral pleasantness - ‘we liked it here’ - not ‘we escaped/fled to here’ that vaporwave often evokes. mild sunny skies, quiet suburban purgatories. a metaphor for Vaporwave is a VHS tape with audio/visual artifacts that is warped by forces destroying society. Frutiger aero depicts a long lost, but found small jpeg that is still intact, never faded, but in a pleasant, voluntary incarceration of technological suburbia: out of date file types at risk one day of never opening again, but always with plenty of time to back it up someday. its colors flatter, sure, but are still pleasant and accessible (’i still remember who i was in that old photo’), despite having been surpassed by newer, better, bigger photos. And on paper, the photos you take today are better in all ways possible. And you take thousands. But do you ever look at them? Will you remember who you are now like you remember a time when you didn't rely on technology? When did people stop having fishtanks in their home? When did I buy my last physical video game? Jupiter’s red spot is disappearing? Is losing 1,000 photos of yourself from yesterday worse than losing the only photo of you and your grandfather from 10 years ago? Will I remember who i am despite having more evidence than ever before?
@Caddynars4 ай бұрын
So as a concept, Frutiger Aero as a whole refers to a software aesthetic that featured hues of glossy textures, sky and water patterns, a sort of tropical vibe. Before it got the name, it was often called Web 2.0 Gloss. It was very prevalent in the early to mid two thousands, gaining traction n around 2004.
