Cool adventure Nick. An injury and a few rapids but you survived. Charlies vision for the camp was spot of then. Camp 2 was pretty cool to. I've swam the river my whole life but have yet to canoe it. I'll have to change that on account of the fun here. All the best. Mark

How clean was the river? Lot's of talk about manure run off from the intensive chicken farming. Did it smell bad? Was it clear? Would you have wanted to swim?

The river didn't look visibly dirty, the water was clear and smelt fine. I drank some water from the river, but ofc used a filter.

Great video, looks like you had an awesome time. We're camping in glasbury next week, was just wondering (& it might seem like a daft question) is it easy to paddle upstream on that section of the River Wye? Was hoping to launch a kayak from our campsite & was hoping to be able to paddle to & from camp, rather than organise a taxi etc. Thanks in advance

I wouldn't do it personally, there are rapids fairly often so I imagine it wouldn't be easy. Worth asking one of the canoe/kayak hire places what they reckon though ofc - I'm no expert.
