Cool project, excellent execution by a superb craftswoman, but I'm unclear as to the practical purpose of pulling a large container w/ a bicycle. How does this relate to fresh water? I would liked to have seen it in use. Does one fill it up, bucket brigade style, and from where? A well or a stream? Is that container of sufficient structural strength to hold a large volume of water without crushing the wheels or itself? What is the purpose of the megaphone on the front? Or is this simply an advertising medium for Viva Con Agua?

Viva von agua has different approaches to collect donations for supporting fresh water projects. One is to collect cups on festivals (people donate them and there is usually a 1 euro deposit on them) in these trash cans. That’s why I built them the bike. To raise some attention and to make it easier to transport the trashbins on the festivals

there is adepositsystem on bottles and cans in germany...for cans you pay 0,25 cent deposit...and get thiy back when bringing the can back...on festivals you can collect cans up to thousands of euros worth it

Yes, and it gives the homeless and unemployed people here in USA a meager income. The actual monetary value of the can or bottle deposit varies from state to state, but is usually about $0.05 per container. A few states lack deposits which the manufacturers vehemently opposed.

I’m in love with the bike.. I made the seat long enough for 5 people snugged and it’s got separate dual geared pedals.. We put heavy duty training wheels on the middle for when we had 5 people.. Thanks for great ideas!

fun fact if you squint it decreases the amount of exposed eye, which decreases the surface area. Therefore it becomes less likely that you will get hit in the eye. Safety. I learned this in robotics.

laura, das jetzt ist freundlich abgesendet, keine anfeindung und auch kein zwng das iwie an oder aufzunehmen! die videos bzw die projekte haben den einfachn boden verlassen. jetzt brauch man bald ne CNC und n plasma um mit oder nachbauen zu können. ein sponsor für eBike und eine garage wäre auch nicht schlecht... ...wird mir zu professionel, glückwunsch zum "erfolg" aber ich will echte tüfter die sich der limits ihrer möglichkeiten bewusst sind und dann anfangen diese limits mit verstand zu brechen. grüße stefan
