I live in the USA. My granddaughter had her appendix removed. She complained of abdominal pain and had no fever. They did a CT scan and it showed an inflamed appendix so they removed it. Here they don’t just give antibiotics and hope it resolves. They remove it before it has a chance to burst and cause peritonitis. Since this child had pus in his abdomen (peritonitis), how do they ensure all the pus is removed? He is out on antibiotics for a couple of weeks? He’s very lucky to come out of this so well. Well done Dr!

I know its hard but parents usually try to use home made medicine instead of taking them to the Hospital, which I can understand that families have financial issue and cannot afford the bills. One of my uncle passed away (RIP) in ruptured appendix in Africa almost 60 years back. We really need to educate families that regardless of age any medical issue should never be ignored. Canada
