@StuTheDon176 ай бұрын
@rinkiakepapa5625 Quota systems will always be wrong. Teams need to be selected on performance and ability. Not skin colour. They could have easily have put their resources into getting young black kids to play the game and the "proper representation" would have happened organically in time. Instead they dropped white players because of their skin colour and destroyed the team.

I actually disagree with most people, I think a quota system is wrong, you pick your best side, picking a player over another because of anything other than cricket is unfair. They should have focused on getting more participation amongst black people at a grassroots level, rather than messing with team selection

Please make a video on how, after 2007 ODI WC failure, the BCCI + coaches + Selectors + Captain + team strategies changed the fortunes, and we ended up getting such a dynamic and young team ready to win the 2011 World cup. Seven players from the Squad for 2007 WC were replaced for the 2011 WC 1. Rahul Dravid = Virat Kohli 2. Sourav Ganguly = Gautam Gambhir 3. Dinesh Karthik = Yusuf Pathan 4. Robin Uthappa = Suresh Raina 5. Irfan Pathan = Ashish Nehra 6. Ajit Agarkar = Piyush Chawla 7. Anil Kumble = Ravichandran Ashwin The players who were retained from the 2007 WC squad for the 2011 WC Squad were 1. Sachin Tendulkar 2. MS Dhoni 3. Virender Sehwag 4. Yuvraj Singh 5. Harbhajan Singh 6. Munaf Patel 7. Sreesanth 8. Zaheer Khan In the lead up to the 2011 wc, in a 3 way competition between Raina, Kohli and Rohit for the middle order batter slot, Rohit had missed out. Similarly, how did Indian cricket end up discovering those 7 new faces, assign them specific roles in the ODI setup, give them a long enough run to test them, and finally select only those new faces who have done well in the interim period. The journey and revolution of England from 2015 to 2019 is very much well documented. I feel India also did something similar, it was a huge innovation and revolution for the Indian ODI team between a disastrous WC and a successful WC. Please make a video on the journey of the Indian team between those two world cups

A very shallow video riddled with inaccuracies and assumptions. The same old story where everyone talks about pre 2004 Zim as if they were World champions. I won't bother to detail all the wrong parts, but i'll just pick out a few here 1. Zimbabwe have never beaten Australia or SA in a test match. 2. The history of discontent goes back to when Zim got its test status. So many black players were denied even the chance to play FC cricket 3. 8 December 2001: A zim team that had Carlisle, Flower brothers and Streak was bowled out for 38 in an ODI vs the same SL team. When the new team was bowled out for 35, they broke the old team's record. This is the same tour that they lost all 3 test matches, 2 by an innings. CONTEXT. However, like all others, you love to push this narrative that the standards fell so bad when the rebels left. If scoring 3 runs more against that mighty SL is what you call higher standards then i give up
