The only way that the computer could have won is if he used physical moves with houndour since Mirror coat has no effect and destiny bond fail due to it being being the computer’s last Pokémon

I also don't understand why she kept switching Wobbuffet out. If I was playing, I would have been tilted because her mindless plays made no sense but she ended up getting away with chip damage on Croconaw. Congrats on the victory your Houndour was great! It also had great stab moves like Flamethrower and Faint Attack. There have been countless times where I got Ember Houndour with Crunch, but I would prefer Flamethrower on him. (Because Ember is terrible)

Wouldn't Croconaw have been a pretty great counter (no pun intended) for Wobuffett? Both physical and special moves and also swagger, which is completely free against it?

This is a speedrun and that would take a ton of time >:O The AI randomly chooses moves so you can't "predict" physical or special counters, and swagger strats would actually take like 10 minutes or more, at a minimum. Houndoor literally can't be touched so it's a safer and much faster play to switch. He just didn't expect wobs to swap out every single time.

@@TaismoFanBoy The opponent AIs (at least the good ones) when using Wobbuffet don't randomly choose between Counter and Mirror Coat. It's semi-random. If you're using a Rhydon the opponent AI will use Counter more often (but still throw the occasional Mirror Coat in there), whilst if you're using an Alakazam it will use Mirror Coat more often with the occasional Counter. If you're using something like Arcanine or Poliwrath it will be closer to 50:50 what they choose. I haven't hacked the game and figured out how they AI works, it's just the patterns I've noticed from playing, but I'm pretty confident in saying it's not completely random. The AIs when using Wobbeffet seem to respond to your moveset as well. For example it may start only using Mirror Coat 10% of the time against your Rhydon, but if you use Surf (revealing that you actually a have a special move), it may use Mirror Coat 25 % of the time.

@@iss2075 10/90 is still random, even if it's weighted random. Speedrunners don't want to risk getting hit with the wrong thing and instantly being in a losing position, versus switching and theoretically (if no double switch) being fine, given Houndoor literally cannot be touched by wobs, while every other mon would risk death, even if odds are "potentially low". My point still stands. You can't guaranteed predict what it's gonna do just because you have both physical and special moves.

@@TaismoFanBoy I agree with your point, and Werster played correctly, and I would have done the same. Houndour and Gastly (which always has Shadow Ball) are the best counters to Wobbuffet in this metagame, no matter whether the AI uses random moves or not. I said about the randomness because some people don't give Pokémon Stadium 2's AIs enough credit, so I thought you may be doing that.
