I see that Walter passed away in Aug 2009 aged 90, I guess he and King Brook's are now finally together bathing in the glory of The King of Kings.

As a child who was born in 1950, I was always disturbed by seeing the "white only" signs or "colored entrance" at the movies. I could never figure out "why" & felt very sad. God bless this man for taking a stand!

I grew up in NW Louisiana. Prejudice and discrimination were very prevalent there. I was saddened by this. Where did some white people think it was o.k. to be so cruel to people who have different skin color? My God would NEVER treat any of His children like that!

I just “happened “ to come across this video, and it has a lot of meaning to me ( I used quotation marks because I believe things happen for a reason 😉). I grew up in the 50’s & 60’s (IN CALIFORNIA), and when I was pretty young we took a beautiful, fascinating train trip back to Mississippi- where my parents had come up. One day my mother took us into a department store, and while she looked at dresses I spied a drinking fountain. Well I walked over to that fountain and started to take a drink and I heard a collective >GASP!

What a amazing story, I kept tears. In this time of reality tv, and garbage I so wish they would start making ‘ Its a Miracle’ again. Always uplifting, as well as interesting. On a side note since discovering Its a Miracle on youtube I’ve shared with my 8 year old grandson and he loves it! So when he stays with me , before we fall asleep we watch 2-3 together. It’s been a amazing bonding tool and he falls asleep with the wonder of God on his mind.

What a wonderful story. I have a similar one. I remember the vegetable vendors coming by in their wagons. My special memory is of the young woman who babysat me and did ironing, misc. chores, etc. She would always buy us fruit or sugar cane. We especially loved the sugar cane! Being the only one not yet in school, she would walk me the few blocks between her house and mine, where I would play hopscotch and jump rope with the (then called colored) children in her neighborhood. Not once did I feel uncomfortable and always felt safe with her. She was so kind. She also attended the same church, however, she had to sit in the balcony. I wish I could remember her name but being so young at the time, sad to say, I don't. But I can still see her face and taste that sugar cane! I hope her life was blessed. ❤️

I have a similar story a lil different but never the less just as important . I am caucasian my dear friend/sister was one of the first 5 african Americans in our community of 1200 people in the 70s. At the time my mother was not only bipolar but was also dieing of cancer. My stepfather was turning on me due to my mother who was hard as heck on me was leaving me money in her will along with this my stepmother was bashing my mother and real father was trying and did get out of paying the remaining child support that he promised to honour the last 8 mos.I was dumbfounded by all of their behavior and it broke my heart over and over. My "Queen" and I did EVERYTHING together for years through high school and her mother ,an english teacher treated me like for the first time in my life, I was valued by having our prom dinner at there home by having my 18th birthday party ,and my first baby shower at their home. To this day I have never forgotten the love they gave me. When my dear friends father passed I had no way of attending his funeral until a bad storm hit and I prayed and found I had an extra day of vacation on my way turning back around to go to his service my friend his daughter broke down and was not able to make it not only did the pouring let up as I exited the freeway the sun shone through a perfect set of cloud shaped wings .The minister at the veterans memorial stated that this would be her 3rd srrvice for the day and each time she began the service it would stop pouring and the sun would shine. Today 40 years later we are still the dearest of friends and I thank god for her and her family everyday

This comment also makes me sad because it should never ever be an issue. I’m a white woman and I truly believe that race,, colour , religion, gender etc should not be something anyone is concerned by. How we treat people is what matters. As a black woman you have every right to be angered by how you were historically treated and yes I know that it still happens these days. Interestingly my daughter in law is white and her biological mother is black, doesn’t that just show that skin colour doesn’t matter. This was a lovely story of friendship, king truly had the right name he helped a family in need when he could have just walked away. His relatives should be very proud.

I can relate to this story. I'm a white South African and our domestic maid was like a mom to me. My mom should have raised cobras cause of alcoholism.
