Arctic Fox has a solid reputation for build quality. Yes, they're heavier. But they're made to last. Their truck campers are incredible. They also have a small 5th wheel that I would even consider and I usually don't like behemoth 5th wheels.

We had a 2006 AF 32', and I miss it!! It held so much cargo in the storage, plus 3 girls, 2 dogs and 2 cats , for 6 months. We sold it for almost what we bought it for, because it held it's value, and then some. We don't even look at other brands- we're definitely AF/ Northwood snobs! If you get a chance to buy one, do it. You won't be sorry!

What a great trailer. So much storage space, especially the ones under the dinette that are accessed from outside. Great place to keep beach toys. I like both kitchens, would use the outside kitchen more. The two end cabinets on the island are fantastic. Only adds to the redonkulous storage. The rack on the roof is for the midfield NASCAR campers. Helps keep them safe while watching the race from there. 🤣

We purchased a 2018 used but same model. It came with a dining table and four chairs which we prefer. As far as the shower I’m 5’9 210 lbs. and have no issue fitting in the shower. The electric fireplace is more than enough to heat the trailer and is quieter than the furnace. If we are camping with hookups the fireplace gets used a lot. Our loveseat came with heated cushions for each sides. As for towing we have a Dodge with a 5.9 Cummins and tows like a dream.

Thank you Artic Fox for using warm, rich wood and counter tones. I know folks love farm house decór and all, but lately RVs are looking more like the set of Wonkavision than living spaces. Josh, you're right, she's a little hefty. Though, it's been my experience that a heavier trailer often pulls more smoothly especially when utilizing the right hitch.

Own a 2016 AF 32A Silver Fox Edition. After several previous trailers of lesser quality I can’t say enough good about it. All weather, all season comfort, excellent road manners, and high/quality in a not lightweight package. This 28 foot trailer looks to be, like ours, optimized to max out a 3/4 ton truck’s ball hitch tow capacity, which we have found works well with our 2005 Duramax.

I agree about doing away with the outside kitchen. I'd much rather have more bathroom space for a bigger shower and truthfully. The use I would get out of that would be next to never. There's already a sink, refrigerator inside. So you'd have to go inside to get a drink or wash your hands or whatever, would be no big deal for me. The other thing I would change would be the use of a 12v electric refrigerator, I never liked the idea of a potentially dangerous fire hazard of a propane refrigerator. The other thing I would change would be the so called theater seats. I would rather have a similarly sized sleeper sofa, that would be Ideal if you have a guest or maybe a kid. At least a sleeper sofa would have an actual matress.. I never really liked the idea of a bunk house, for me anyhow. I look at a TT and see that it says BH. I'm like BLAH.. LOL Just my preference.. Anyhow. Outside of those other things I would change. I really like this trailer it has kind of a home appeal to it.

Finally a Northwood for us west coast peeps!Arctic Fox really builds trailers for a certain type of buyer. The individual will more likely care more about build quality and material and welcome the extra weight associated. Individual also cares more about Chassis and coach strength over floor plan. This RV is designed to go off road and camp in extreme conditions for a long period of time for decades to come if needed. Sure a Grand Design has a better floor plan with tv across from couch and shiny things to look at, but how capable will it be under extreme use. Different strokes for different folks.

One thing I haven’t heard mentioned in your Northwood videos so far is they use Jensen 12v TV’s in all their travel trailers. The largest one available is 40” so they don’t make TV viewing a priority. Other models have 28” or 32” TV’s in lieu of more cabinets and storage. Many Northwood owners actually cover their TV’s with a print or outdoor themed embroidery anyway. That’s how we roll in the mountains of the PNW. For the folks who mentioned lack of solar, there is a factory installed Zamp junction box on the roof to allow for two more 170w Zamp panels or three total if you replace the small tender panel. ORV will install all of the roof panels at the factory if ordered that way. Not sure about A/F but you can certainly add panels a the dealership or yourself to end up with a large plug and play solar package. Not to mention the portable panel hookup on the side. Northwood uses Zamp because they are made in Oregon. Same with the marine grade plywood that comes from a mill just down the road. Sourcing as many local components as possible and providing local jobs was always important to Mr. Nash, rest his soul.

I honestly love this, I could pass up a couples RV, love the bedroom those like me who are phobic of small places. I love how they stepped out of the box with the outlets, and drawers. The kitchen is everyone’s dream, well most!, the storage, wow! I do love the contrast of the darker wood, the lighter floor & wall. I can deal with the shower, my only beef, I’m not a fan of the kitchen table for those who are tall & built like a football player, just not as comfy. I do love the detail of the back of the RV. On the outside, I’m not a kitchen fan, this one is ok, don’t care for the setup. I love cooking outside, only the refrigerator and utensils is a plus, but that’s just my preference . I don’t like it’s lacking the generator wired. The rest of the outside of the Rv is a gem, to the drawers and how sturdy the roof is amazing. Oops left out my favorite bedroom! this is it, plus how our air conditioners drains Our 2021 Cougar. 34tsb I hate how it drains on our head, love this one does not, or the king size bed that does not belong in a Cougar, this RV is the best I’ve seen on the market! Would be nice if they could figure out how to bring down the heaviness of this RV, but not compromise this clean cut camper. I believe this is my favorite camper, even over the Grand Design in this size. I know each has their cons, I think this by far beats it. Id honestly believe I would buy this one on the spot! Really surprised me. There is no perfect RV, it’s the one you can live in for a few weeks without killing your spouse.🤣🤣 j/k Question: Could the table be replaced with a fictional for larger person ( no I’m not big lol, hubby is a big boy football player) I really love I can drink coffee in the morning, catch the news with the small tables, to small to eat dinner. Sorry for the rave, just did not expect this RV to be this beautiful all the hidden gems, and not cheaply made with most RV’s in this class.

Love my 2022 28-5c AF fifth wheel! Northwood stays true to what works and builds a very nice SOLID trailer. Rare craftmanship in an RV. Price was not as bad as I thought considering the attention to detail and quality of the components. I do think they missed it big on the shower. They had room to do better if they had shrunk the cabinet next to it. However, fit and finish is as good as I've ever seen.

I've viewed their site and online photos, but nothing compares to a 'live' look at what they're doing. I was impressed before, now I'm really impressed. To answer your question on the other video, we ordered a AF 27-5L sight unseen, and emailed a deposit. Had it for 6+ months and living in it since mid november. We'll be back in your neighborhood in April if you wanted to see it. We did pick it up from the dealer. We found one issue when we picked it up, the sat/ant cables were crossed. Since having it, the Suburban water heater developed a slight leak. One front hookup light, switch has gone bad... that's it. Most excellent quality and extremely pleased with it. We did install MorRyde Independent suspension and disc brakes. Much better stopping power. My number one complaint, too much wasted space in the pass through. That should have worked on maximizing space. Also in your other video, the comment on dealers, we talked to two dealers. One dealer was several thousand dollars higher, and was charging extra for stuff that comes standard, like the trailer hitch on the back

You know what I think! If this were an ORV it would be called a Titanium due to trim and feature upgrades. The real cost of weight in AF and ORV is 5/8” Box beam trailer chassis framing throughout, real wood cabinets, drawers sitting on 200# slides. You really need to talk about the trailer shocks and linked suspension. TTs don’t typically one with shocks that reduce wind gust roll and road porpoising. It’s a HUUUGE safety benefit.

Thanks for bringing us a video on a brand that is mostly only seen on the West side of the Country! It seems that most trailer companies out West tend to build their floorplans without what we call "Road-mode" accessibility; maybe it is because their time spent to get to a destination is not as long in travel time length. Have to ponder that one a bit. The Artic Fox brand does seem like a solidly built camper; will be watching for more videos on the West Coast Brands that we rarely see here in the Midwest! Hi Josh! Thank you for this review! I really love this model for our lifestyle- exclusively boondocking in CO and the immediate surrounding states, without regard for weather. You had a used version of this model in 2020, back in your Hallet days. This model was on the consideration block when my wife and I had “the meeting” to decide what class and model of rig we wanted. We ended up going with an Outdoors RV, but that doesn’t mean we think any less of this model. Ultimately, ORV had a slightly shorter model that still had the features we wanted. The main thing I like about this one, over what we did get, is that it has a couch…..and this one has mega internal storage. All in all, no regrets with what we got. Awesome review, sir!

This is one of the trailers we have thought about looking at as our next trailer, hope to see a review on the outdoors RV 28DBS. Enjoy watching the videos informative and entertaining, keep up the good work.

I love my nash trailer. I don’t even consider trailers that aren’t orv or northwood. If u don’t like headaches and want a trailer that won’t disintegrate in ur yard before ur eyes buy northwood lol

Yep, that bathroom is a bummer, they could probably make it a little bigger if they lost the outdoor kitchen. Overall a great trailer inside and out, I like that they went with the flush windows, gives a clean appearance compared to their prior windows

If (I mean WHEN!) I win the lottery this looks like what I would buy. At first glance looking at the interior it screamed quality to me and I like the decor, being a child of the 70's and 80's the brown looks warm and inviting, as I don't care for the modern black/gray/white that I've seen in most of the trailers so far. One change I would make would be possibly cutting the hanging closet in the bathroom in half and make the shower a bit bigger. My 6'2 270lb beefy self may not fit too well in the shower as is.
@JoshtheRVNerd Жыл бұрын
Funny you mentioned the 80's. When people think 80's they always think checkerboard floors and neon colors but they forget how everything was just _so brown everywhere_

Awesome trailer. Well done Northwood. True the shower is a bit small but I can easily adjust to that since I don't spend much time in there. Love the exterior graphics as well. One question I have is the interior colors, is there a choice or is brown, brown on brown it?
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
All of the Browns is the choice.

This is my favorite setup for my wife and I. We have a nearly identical setup of a 2017 Sunset Trail 26BB. The only thing missing is a fireplace under the TV in the living room/kitchen area. If this floor plan is still around in 5, years, I would buy it again. The outdoor kitchen we use all the time. Question though, does the outside sink drain to the gray tank, or is there a low point drain where you hook a garden hose to it?
@JoshtheRVNerd2 жыл бұрын
I am not 100% certain on that camp kitchen but I BELIEVE it drains into a tank. I want to make sure
@jetdriver2 жыл бұрын
I love the build quality. Love that this trailer will likely be far far more durable than is the norm. That being said I don’t love the layout or the decor on this one. The valances for example are so 80’s. All the space above The camp kitchen seems to be lost too. You’d think as a full width rear bath it would be a good bit bigger. And at this weight and price point I’d really like to see an upgraded suspension equalizer as standard fit. Finally I feel like with the motors the jacks stick out a lot more than is the norm and that’s not a good thing. I’m not sure why it is but it just seems like so many of the travel trailer brands that really emphasize build quality and ruggedness are stuck a couple of decades behind in terms of layouts and decor.

I have always thought I would gladly trade some weight for structure and these guys do it. A really well thought out trailer. As for the shower, you can stand up, but can you pirouette? 😆 And the roof rack is actually the fat guy on the roof catch basin for when you roll up from the ladder. You wouldn't want to roll off! Seriously though, I really like this unit and have wanted to see a review of one.
