When i get handed a pile of yarn that used to be someone's stash, I use a lot of them for Project Linus blankets. comforting blankets for kids in hospital, or who end up interacting with the fire service and in need of a cuddle. Mine are usually chaos colored crocheted hexagons, joined together with one solid color. perhaps there's a kids hospital nearby that could use baby blankets in baby colors? don't worry about disjointed. it fits the "trying to do everything" feeling of the season.

Early January is a great time to do little Christmas crafts then put them away for next year.

"I thought this was something people did cos it was cheap, but it turns out it's expensive" yeah that applies to a lot of things huh

My granddaughter makes the stars, but calls them ninja stars. I donated most of my scrapbooking papers but kept a packet of holiday ones and asked her to make a few as ornaments for my tree. She said "um, sure". Typical pre-teen! I wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season!

I recognise that floral fabric you put the candle in! I lined a tote bag with it, so it must be a fabric that asks to be turned into bags😊

Peony/Jasmine, wonderful. Beautiful scarf. And, why don't you make yourself some coasters? You deserve a lovely handmade present. I hope you are feeling better; or get feeling better soon. Happy Holidays.

I need to do more handmade presents again. I’ve been so burnt out this year that I’m feeling like a capitalist stooge 😖 Merry Christmas Ash 😊

I got a Munbyn printer a few years ago and really like it. We made candles when I was a kid, but I've not made stars like this (yet)! This was a great video for a lazy evening. Hope you feel better soon!

This was a great video and disjointed is exactly what this time of year needs! So many fun ideas in here. :) I think I am going to make coasters for my SIL for whom I never quite know what to get. Have a great Christmas.

-Where does one find (make?) the candle-wick-holder thingy? I haven't had the greatest luck using reclaimed wax... (The dipped ones looked like turds, no I'm not kidding! Too many colors mixed together!) -I think maybe the nice crafting paper got more expensive as it got more popular, but I'm just guessing. I have gotten around that by (not doing those projects, and) making recycled craft paper myself, and doing papercut pieces with some of it. Some also just made nice, giftable notepaper. -I've never considered fabric coasters before! They turned out great! -I've still never gotten around to making gift bags... YET! -Blessings to you and yours!

My homemade gifts this year are wheat pillows. They're easy to make, they will be appreciated by almost anyone, and I happened to have some very cozy cotton flannel to use as covers. So the yarn colours you have that you're not fond of are baby blue, baby pink and white? My brain instantly went TRANS FLAG BLANKET 😅

That's a good idea! I'll figure out something for the baby yellow XD

Would you consider selling the pink, baby blue, beige, and white yarn? I'm in England. Your crafts turned out great. ❤

How is it THE THIRD WEEK OF DECEMBER??? I know time is wobbly whimey, but egads, this is freaking RIDICULOUS. (pardon the yelling, I'm in shock about this) Also, here's to a happy holiday season for you; here's hoping 2025 is better for us all.

Haha, funny I made little cloth baggies today instead of wrapping paper. That's it, I'm a scrooge since Christmas has become so commercialized.

Your local hospital may appreciate tiny things for premature babies in those pastel* colours? At least it would use up the less useful-to-you yarns. *I generally refer to these as 'Nana knitting' colours; I remember being a girl in the 1960s and receiving many handknitted cardigans in those sorts of colours from elderly relatives. How I disliked them at the time, ungrateful brat that I was, who didn't appreciate how much work had gone into them. Still hate those colours though!

The spouse has declared that 2025 will be a year of building. I'm going to go with that because im tired of the crappy years we've been doing.

Ohh, you could dye the yarn you don´t like...or knitting first and than dye the project.
@AshLGКүн бұрын
Sadly they're almost all 80-85% acrylic and 15-20% wool, which is a nightmare to dye

You could make squillions of pairs of stockings with that yarn! Dye the ones whose colours that you don’t like black; it covers a multitude of sins.
