In the US, we attach the mittens on a yarn cord, long enough to feed through the jacket sleeves. This way the mittens don't get lost. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Beautiful projects! With only two additional seams, you can take your project bags up a notch by creating box bottoms so the bag stands up. Just take the bottom seam and place it perpendicular to each side seam and sew across the bottom of the triangle. I always used to put the string connecting the mittens down the sleeves of the coat, so that they're always ready when the child put her arms into the coat.

I did made gift bags to my children when they was young. With a snowman on. They got a small gift in it every year. They have moved out now. But they don't want to take the giftbag with them. It belongs under mommys tree. So if they are home in chrismas there is a small gift there, and if they are not the giftbag lay there empty.

Have a wonderful trip. I do love your ideas, but the light color for Nellie's sweater, makes me hope she is neater than my boys were at that age.

So far no problem though i dont know how it will be in kindergarden😂

Happy Holidays! Nellie's first Christmas will be memorable. For you more than for her! LOL. I used the string for little mittens and mostly it worked out. Extra long cuffs such as you made are great - I put the mittens on before the coat and they stayed warmer. Enjoy your trips and have a wonderful, restful time. She'll never be this age again and it's just such a fun time.

Those mittens are adorable! We would often see mittens that are connected with a long-ish cord and that would go along the kid's back and through the jacket arm out the cuff so when they take off the mittens they just hang out the arm and don't get lost :D

In Denmark mittens on a string are not allowed in kindergarden, as well as other things that tie around the neck because of strangulation hazard. But they recommend adding a button and loop to the sleeve in stead!

Hi, I love that sweater you’re wearing! It’s beautiful ❤ I would definitely make some icord or crochet chain to hold the mittens together, especially if you don’t LOVE making mittens 😅

Thank you for another lovely vlog Inga. Please can you advise which circular needles you use as I would like to invest in some new needles? Thank you, Kaz. Merry Christmas to you and your little family. x

For interchangables i like the knitpro ginger and for metal the hiyahiya sharps, for small circulars i like the 30cm ones from either sandnes garn or addi😁

So, had to laugh when you spoke about making mittens for Nelly that would be durable enough for her to wear when she was using a shovel, at kindergarten, in the wet…I’m not Norwegian so I’m thinking, not only do babies in Norway have to sleep outside in the snow, when they’re a year old they get sent out on the streets shovelling snow and doing roadworks😂😂😂

Mittens for kindergarden cannot be lost if you join the mittens with a string you introduce in the inside of the child's coat from one wrist to the other. Hope it makes sense. It is very useful.

For the mittens: knit an icons and attach to each mitten. Run the mittens through the coat sleeves so the mittens are in the right place and won’t get lost! They stay in place when you run them through the coat sleeves. You probably already know this 😂

В год уже в сад? Не рановато? В моëм детстве варежки для малышей были на резинке (бельевой которая в трусах, брюках и т. д) один конец к варежке, через рукав шубы, через вешалку в шубе и в другой рукав ко второй варежке😊
