Okay so I have a theory. The reason why there are two guardians are on purpose. Like the government knew that the gates would open up eventually but to not cause chaos they got two guardians because it’ll look like they’re giving a crap when in reality they’re not. Also the two guardians could be used as a scapegoat when everything went to crap. That or the non magical realm government is really incompetent because who only uses two people to essentially keep an apocalypse at bay?!
