I have that exact same Apollo 11 and I love it! It runs way better than my prodigy! Also it comes with a Red Dirt adjustable trigger and a nice range bag! The slide is cut for RMSC optics out of the box! I've become an LFA fanboy and purchased several of their guns with no problems!!

Mine shot amazing, I mean ridiculously amazing, it shot better than I can shoot. It had a problem at around 1K rounds so I figured I’d send it in. Was back in 2 weeks even smoother and tighter than before. Great pistol and outstanding customer service. That’s my experience with it, great pistol.

I got one when they first came out and I’ve been very happy so far. Purchased a holosun 407k for it but I like the lron sights so well I’ve not put the red dot on. 300-500 rounds of the cheapest 9mm I can find. Purchased about four of the prodigy magazines and seems to be good. I’m not able to air rack mine. Then again I don’t know nothing about firearms, I’m slowly learning. I have an early model of the Apollo. I have replaced the thumb safeties with wider models because I prefer them, installed a 9lb spring over the stock 7lb, replaced the grip with a Prodigy module, Holosun 507k, and an Atlas Med flat face trigger. Some basic changes, but she feels like a whole different pistol. And I'm still in it for less than a Prodigy.

It’s subjective. 2011s are in the $2000-$5000 range sometimes even higher. If I told you that you could get a new Ferrari from me $60,000 would you consider that a cheap Ferrari? 60k is by no means a small amount of money, but in regards to car that’s generally 200k+ that’s cheap.

I don't think many outside guntubers and hardcore brand snobs consider $1k cheap for a handgun. But until more recently $1k is cheap for a "2011" double stack 1911. For a long time the only cheap ds 1911 was Rock Islands HC models. Everything else was higher end like wilson, sti/staccato, and nighthawk. Now with tisas, girsan, apollo, etc you can get them for 1k or less. They aren't as nice as a real 2011 but the Tisas and MAC I shot were awesome.

I just picked up an Apollo 11 compact recently. Swapped a prodigy grip module onto it. If you contact springfield customer service, you can get one for $50. Takes a little modification, but it's a much nicer grip IMO.

The Tisas B9R DS 5" is also very solid for around $600-700 and compatible with pretty much every 2011 part. I have 2 Tisas guns and never had issues.

If got a Tisas Duty B9 9mm Government and it works great .... I think these guns are on par with a RIA but just a little better ..... I was looking at that DS but I live in Dummycrat Illinois so 10 rds max ..... Then I seen on their website for parts I can buy the slide only for the DS which will fit my single stack so I can put a red dot on mine like a conversion kit.

No plate required. It's the RMSC footprint direct mount, or you can use the adapter that comes with the holosun k models. I have this gun and it was a turd out of the box, but after replacing all of the shitty parts with good ones, its okay.

I have an Apollo, Prodigy, and Staccato. Those are all pretty much you getting what you pay for in my experience. All things consider it's decent. However, I had to swap both the recoil spring (to 10lb) and the mainspring (to 19lb) to get it running reliably. I also polished the bottom of the firing pin stop since that was causing slide hangup. Finally, the cerakote on the safety's channel wore off in the first range session making it extremely hard to actuate, to the point I initially thought it was stuck. Took it out and modified the channel to get it feeling to my liking. Also like others said it's holosun k footprint so no plates. It does have exceptionally low recoil. I put a Cheely steel grip on it and it completely deleted recoil without even having to use ports or a comp. It did require a ton of fitting though, it seems like they aren't fully up to the 2011 spec which is odd and worth warning people in case they want to install an aftermarket grip on theirs. The Prodigy and Staccato much better suited for that as it is drop in on those two. It's also a costly mod, but I wanted to do it for fun so that's what matters for me.

I love mine. For the price it has performed flawlessly. The grip isn’t great, or even close to great, that’s the only downside I see. It’s super accurate. No MIM parts, Lifetime Warranty, Made in USA…what’s not to like? I have an Oracle Arms 2311 and this Apollo is just a better shooting gun than the OA. The OA has dissapointing accuracy to say the least, and questionable ergonomics. I have $3k in that 2311. That makes the Apollo is an extremely solid option at $950.

I got a Llama 1911 from a big box store for $299.00, and I loved that gun! Just don't trust the magazines that come with it. I had the bottom spring plate fall off, and I had rounds and a spring all over the floor. Luckily, it happened when all was calm.

Just curious maybe someone can clear it up for me, what’s wrong with the rock island 1911’s? I’ve had mine for I believe 2 years now, not a single malfunction yet and the quality(minus the cheap grips) seems to be pretty decent for money. I watched plenty of reviews on them before I purchased, everyone seemed to think it was a great 1911 for the price. I genuinely thought they were a respected firearm for the price. I’ve never even held anything like an atlas or a staccato tho so maybe I would think the RIA is junk after that but I don’t know. I definitely wouldn’t compared them in just curious, are they hated 1911’s like he said? People have problems with them?

The RIA FS HC 9 Tac Ultra runs like a faucet ...not sure why you say it doesn't. Also the 5" Tisas DS 5" 2011 once cleaned, lubed and massaged a little runs excellent. 5500+ trouble free rounds through the Tisas. I own almost every Tisas 1911, all forged no MIM, ETC. Sure for someone like you who can sling $5k pistols around every day, they may seem like shit. I disagree. No problem with any of them. Ive owned several high end 1911s, never found the superiority that much higher that is was worth talking shit on the others.

Interesting gun, might look into it, but I think the Platypus is probably my go to for 2011s, it is my only one cause I've spent all my money on other firearms, but for the amount of customization and the fact that it can use glock mags makes it a solid choice for those wanting to get into the 2011 market, but can't afford the premium ones like staccatos. As always a privilege to watch you shoot!
