Remington made typewriters before pistols. They also were tasked with making the 1911.
@CivilizedWarrior4 ай бұрын
The ww2 1911’s were made by Remington-Rand, a related, but different company. Basically, the Remington family started Remington & Sons in the early 1800’s, which made BOTH typewriters, and firearms. Then, in the late 1800’s they sold off Remington & Sons and it merged with another typewriter company, which became Remington-Rand. The family then started The Remington Arms Company, and continued making just firearms, while Remington-Rand kept making typewriters, and later on, computers. In a random weird coincidence, Remington-Rand, the typewriter company, (which coincidentally had a gun making lineage) was pressed into service by the gov’t to make 1911 pistols during WW2, simply because they were a big company with a big enough factory, and the tooling necessary to quickly and easily shift to building pistols. And they built a lot of them. Remington Arms, meanwhile, was producing ammunition for the war effort, as well as M1903A3 bolt action rifles, and other more complex parts for various other guns, which were then shipped to other factories with less machining capability for assembly.

@willthethrill43944 ай бұрын
Training, vs expensive or cheap guns is so nuanced. Training definitely is king, but if someone trained for 10 years on glocks and is insanely good with them then decides to switch to a staccato they may shoot it poorly until they trained enough with it. Which is why it’s best to train with a very few different pistols until you become a proficient shooter. Then the other side is a new shooter, put a glock in their hands they may suck with it. Put a staccato or any pistol with a great trigger in it and they may shoot it very well. They might also suck even aith every advantage possible. I had a 320 and it always felt soft recoiling to me. I never had the skill at the time to shoot it fast so I can speak on the muzzle flip and returning to target. I personally hated the trigger the most on it. I tried many apex combinations and also stronger and lighter trigger springs and never could like the feel of the trigger. Then it had extraction issues so I traded it in for a p10c and haven’t looked back
