With this new model, the ES2 Electric Scooter some things have changed. For example, the weight. It’s now 16 kilogram and can therefore carry a person of up to 120kg. The folding size is therefore a bit bigger than we’re used to: 112*33*43cm. OK, so I'm using this scooter for 5-6 months now, here are my impressions. Overall I'm OK with it, but here are some drawbacks: 1. Front tire pretty quickly started to squeak on every self turn, tried to solve it by adding some mechanical grease between rim and tire, solves it for a while but it starts again. I didn't dismount a tire yet cause it's a pain in a.., but I'll do it eventually to check it out, maybe order a new tire. 2. Front light died on me last week, but fortunately I'm moderate in electronics, and managed to dismantle control board below the display (also pain... had to dismantle handles, wiring, all upper head), and solder bad contact. 3. I didn't like side blue lights, since it can't be turned off, I just disconnected them, soldering again. 4. Folding mechanism started to get little gap in metal, and I was using it every day. I was scared it would fold by itself eventually, but that's just me, panicking a bit :D, so I secured it with extra screw in that hole in mechanism and now it can't be folded even if you kick it hard, I don't mind it cause I use scooter for work and back, store it unfolded and never had a reason to pack it in car. 5. Rear mud guard started to crack a bit 2-3 centimeters on the side where it's screwed to the body 'cause it wobbles like a spring when riding. I added a piece of bar, gluing it with hot plastic somewhere from rear light to plastic near rear wheel axis. I did it today, hope will have less vibrations now. 6. Electronic brake lever sometimes stays in stat stop position when I press it, it's purely mechanical thing, little tap on it and it springs back, I have to dismantle it once, maybe oil it somewhere, not a big deal. Now, even with all that said, I like it 'cause I ride it how I want, I'm not a gentle rider, sometimes jumping off or on the curbs full speed so no wonder it brakes on me here and there :D, solid tires = less comfort, but I'll never buy pneumatic's, can't imagine to get flat while getting to work. Less comfort doesn't mean totally bad, it's really OK, however my route is pre-planned, can't go on any surface, like roads made of little stone blocks, it has to be asphalt concrete, relatively smooth. That said, I ride it on uneven surfaces like grass and soil sometimes, and it feels OK. Scooter likes to squeak and get noisy sometimes, that folding mechanism does that, that little gap lets it move a bit, just enough to hear a thud when riding over a crack on road, so I'm thinking welding or screwing that fold for good :). In App you can change from mph to kmh and back, choose if you want it to accelerate from start or you have to kick start it with your leg (I use first method). Cruise control can be set too but I don't use it. Scooter doesn't count distance at all. Light turns on by double tapping button, not long press like you said (that turns it off). Every time scooter is turned on, it always starts with low speed setting, so by one click you can shift it to middle than on high speed. My scooter measures 23 km/h max. On downhill it tops 25, and then beeps for overspeeding. Max range I got is 15 km, but I'm talking full throttle, that could probably stretch to 20, using lower speeds. It has a lot of accelerating power, climbing over road bridges (16-17 km/h), walking bridges, no problem, but my weight is only 78 kg. Tires are good, never slipped, even on wet surface. Front suspension is whatever, it's feels like it doesn't matter, like it's not there at all, too stiff. USB is useless, riding full speed in town, stopping on red lights and starting again gives you 45-60 minutes of riding. If you phone can't handle that... I like to use electronic brake over mechanical, be aware when on high speed setting to bend your knees a bit when braking, like a little squat position, 'cause it kicks really hard. I had a drag race with xiaomi M365, xiaomi is 1-2 km/h faster, similar acc, don't know about climbing angle, we didn't trie that. Sorry for long comment :D.

Hi Martin, thanks for your great review. I'm not sure if you can help but I seem to have a problem with mine: it'll turn on, but the throttle does nothing! I have a flashing 02 error and beeping. If I kick start it to 10kph+, the throttle will kick in, but it then tends to cut out pretty soon. Any tips very gratefully received. Thanks!

Hi, can someone please help. I've bought this exact model from Amazon but the right handlebar insert won't screw into the scooter. In the video the handlebar insert screws in perfectly with little effort- this is not the case with my model. This is the second product I've had with the exact same issue. It is like the tolerance of the insert is too tight. I have tried to get help through Amazon but the seller is from China and doesn't understand. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I do not recommend it. I bought it in November 2019 and in March 20 it stopped and the shaft that allows it to bend had broken. The after-sales service only communicates by email when it wants and with vague answers. It took more than a month to take it and after 22 days they have returned me with a dent where the right handlebar is screwed that prevents me from putting it in and the kickstand that was going well, now it is very hard, it does not finish the route and it moves from where it is grabbed. So the scooter is nice, but soon it breaks down and they have a terrible after-sales and repair service, which makes your purchase a horror. I do not recommend it. By the way I bought it in kugoo-spain. I hope that someone can use this, since I would have appreciated that someone who had it had put their experience. a greeting

Depends if you got the honeycomb tires or not. Honeycomb tires are much firmer and have more vibration. But you can get normal tires too that will be much smoother

I have the exact same one only it's a different name which there are a lot of clones with the same scooter with this some of the couple specs for a couple s, mine is the pro zip inceptor hover bird scooter buy a hoverboard and exact same thing everything right down to the T. I've had mine going the consistent 32 km an hour on any straight, however the other day on a downhill turn on cruise control, as in the same as Vehicles when you turn that off you get a couples percent more power wanted to see if it would work and it actually did LOL, headed up to 36 kilometres an hour had no idea but once I went back onto a straight and went back to 31 32. The GREAT scooter all around SUPER sexy looking that's for sure👌 probably the best as far as the luxury go however, a LITTLE bit more power for the hills and a LITTLE bit more bounce even with their so-called suspension, in fromt.. if in back to would be BETTER...would make it basically the ULTIMATE scooters also a way to turn side light off SAME as other lights .. tho I LOVEthe look and extra attention those wide lights alone give...also dont work the best on hills at ALL over 15 %.... also COULD go even 5 KM further on distance and speed but...full speed gives around 20 km whole time... put in 1st or 2nd gear even half the time..itll make a..NOTICABLEdiff maybe 5 km or more more...ha.....but, for the price this is way better than the xiaomi 360. People compared to that often, but this is about $200 or more cheaper or am I in Canada, also just Chaka couple of mirrors on there and the handlebar extender for some other things this thing attracts a lot of attention. Also maybe some tenants tires would be nice but that's because I'm taller and like to go on off-road every now and then what is Starz the streets go and small pebbled past light packing, Short Short Grass this thing can do a no problem. But I've also read that other people have used for this for other scooters, what's better shocks in absorb suspension, where a lot of it is the trick of the mind and feeling the pressure through your legs, they've gotten rubber mats and shaped it to their decks, and giving that extra inch how soft suspension. I'm about to try it myself LOL but for the extra couple hundred dollars I'm going to start saving up for the off-road version of this which I have found and every way it's almost a BIG BROTHER of this, same shape design even side lights etc just BIGGER VERSION...and that is the I-X P off road. If you live in the UK or NL, it's forbidden. Most other countries in the EU it's allowed. Belgium has the most attractive laws/rules :)

@@Ebu26 YES Im from Belgium and i have this exact same model but with the real name 'mega motions' not kuggoo! The kugoo is just a rebranding! My step goes up 31km/hour and i weigh around 75kg. Glad to be living in belgium so i can ride my step withot worry! And like the reviewer said the model is a little more heavier than other models at around 16kg but its actually a big plus! Its stronger and more durable! When riding from A to B i the city, Its amazing to be on this step cuz of the sturdiness of the step you dont feel the shocks and pits as much as the other smaller steps which are horrible! This step is so strong and sturdy you can really go over more rough terrain! Also amazing battery longevity and speed!

Hey Martijn ... i have just bought this scooter because of your recommendation .. but i really regret it because it has no suspension at all ... i know they say it has a front wheel suspension but i really can feel every little atom of sand !!! Whats so wrong with the folding mechanism on kugoo s1, apart from the clowns who can't read a user manual first, before using it? It feels very safe and I bet I can unmount and fold my scooter faster than xiaomi sissies can fold their rig. Anyway, kugoo s1 is a tank. I've driven it for almost a year (700-1000km in total) in hard weather conditions - there is no battery degradation, no deflated tires, no water damage and the scooter is absolutely fine. Winter is a bit slippy - I would certainly appreciate some good studded winter tires and fine trunk container where I could put charger at least. I love that thing, a real horse for work.

I used it for 2000km in 5 months and got problems with the steering rod. Now it falls down while reeding. Also I got some ecu errors. But 30km is really fast I like it

@@kevinnoel365 1127km here now. Battery reduced half of its capacity, because I was dumb and multiple times drained it completely empty while driving. Keep guys in mind to never do that - this model apparently does not have a sufficient protection, and if you drive it, always leave a bit juice in the battery before recharging (do not drive it empty). Did not have any ECU errors and sht, but I once lost a screw that holds steering rod in place (near hook) - easily fixed but again - my error, because I should check from time to time if screws are tight (you know... vibration and stuff can get them loose). Still liking this scooter, and it has already paid off, so I am not too worried about something breaking down.

Oh and another thing about draining it empty - be twice as careful with this since when it turns off, electronic brakes stops working, and you can get yourself in a bit dangerous situation if you are driving fast at that moment.

The steering wheel got broken - the same problem what you had. :D But I solved it russian style - drilled a hole through the tube (there's a wire going through it tho, so anyone who follows my way - be careful to not drill into it) and added a screw, which holds now it in place. Seems much more reliable than that shiny little button type thing. I'm starting to wonder what the next surprise will be.
