Thanks for this comparison. In the back to school section at Walmart, I saw that they have, what I assume to be a dupe for the paper mate inkjoy gel pens. It’s their Pen and Gear brand. Could you review/compare them?

I’ve had my amazon felt pens for about 6 years and they all still write like its brand new. The tip never looses its shape also.

@@shg2392 I'm looking at them and the barrels do not have the ridges or white tips. The 2016 and 2021 look identical except that the white x on the cap. Ones raised and one has a mini dip.

Ueah, that was me. :) I stumbled on the whole brand by accident and have been ho'ing for them ever since. However, you're right about the breakdown. I'm not overly heavy-handed, but they get a bit scritchy after extended use. It rebounds ok after a rest, but once they go scritchy, they go back to scritchy pdq.

You could use a piece of tape or something to fold over each page you have a swatch on. Like a little page marker. Something that doesn't stick out more but makes it stand out more. I hope that made sense, I still have morning brain.

You could have a collection in each bullet journal (so it would be one that gets moved), that indexes all of the swatch spreads! Which journal they're in and on what page, for what set of markers/pens. Then you can easily find each set of swatches even if they aren't in one notebook.

I like the color of the amazon ones better than the flairs.... but it is risky buying amazon pens, because you never know how long they will last.

I just bought the Scribble Stuff felt tip 24-pack from Walmart and the colors looked really similar to your Flair swatch page, so I pulled them out and swatched to check during this video and - yup, also a straight dupe of the color selection lol! I did notice though that a lot of the colors match more closely - the Scribble Stuff pens don't have the saturation differences some of the Amazon Basics do. I was going back and forth between the two, but I think I made the right choice.

Why don’t you make a bullet journal specifically for swatches? Like, get a bullet journal that matches the rest? That way, you get the same look and feel when doing swatches, but it’s in one designated book!

I stopped using Flairs years ago when they put that stupid plastic guard on the tip of the pen. They used to be a large tip and you could use just the tip or the side of the pen. I don't understand why they changed them, but the whole feel was different and I really dislike them now.

That's what I'm thinking, that Amazon and PM have some kind of deal to sell those PMs at lower costs bc PMs are expensive(I found a 16 pack of PMs for $32 at Michaels, which is damn crazy). I love PMs but I dont always love the price. I may get some ABs just to have in a pinch.

From here it looks like the AB Mocha might actually be Pumpkin, and Passionfruit might be Mocha...so you might be missing Passionfruit instead. But in person I could be totally wrong :P Also maybe Magenta and Orchid Lei are swapped?

Could you take a look at the Graph’O twin tip water based marker and compare them to the Tombow dualbrush markers? They are a brush pen aswell :)

Nicky Darty Sort of! They’re felt-tipped, so it’s kind like using a very thin marker with more control of the ink.
