A mini review of the Minolta P's also known as the Minolta Freedom Vista. Panoramic glory. The photos shot with this camera were shot on Ilford XP2. Consider this my intro to KZbin! Is this a camera you'd try out?

Nice first video!! Much success. The ISO limitation is not too bad. You can throw in 200 ISO film and with film’s latitude it will be just fine. Go ahead and use the new Phoenix film, Kodak Gold and ColorPlus 200 and Fomapan 200 and FP4 Plus 125 and they will be ok. Nice camera! 👍🏻

Yep! I kinda like that the limitation allows some creative choice. Unlike point and shoots that would require you to “hack” the DX code

It’s just something about that pano crop… I made a video about a pentax p&s that has a crop mode too. Love it. Even on my new lumix s5 it has a crop mode in it that gives a live view, it’s so cool to shoot using it Btw.. how much I gotta bribe you for the hat????

Absolutely! I know the pano crop gets some hate but I dig it. It’s such a nice creative challenge. As for the hat I’d only accept a vintage navy issued leica or a mint Nikon F3 press edition (as you can see I’ve thought of this scenario before) 😂

That 3:1 aspect ratio is wild. Is this camera autofocus? Fixed focus?

Autofocus and surprisingly good at it! It’s EV range is really its limiting factor but easy to work around

Thanks Adam! I haven't but I met a friend in Ohio who has one and it's absolutely beautiful. The images he showed me were incredible. This Minolta is low key the gateway drug to splurging on an X pan for sure haha. Never seen the Horizon but I have seen results and those are insane (if I am thinking of the correct camera)

Incredible video quality. I think you could take it to the next level with great audio. Get yourself a nice condenser mic, turn up that gain and speak in a soft register for an ASMR like effect and this would be such a comfy cozy series to watch.

Thanks for the feedback! I was less than stoked about how this lab mic sounded. I’m sure better than no mic at all but I’m 100% looking to do something like that the next time around. Even if the mic is in frame haha whatever it takes!

The RODE Pro seems to be the best bang for your buck to me so far. But for more of a podcast quality condenser mic, I love the Blue Yeti. Keep up the great work! @@bertosfilmbag
