If it had a 305 in it you're probably going to need to swap the rear end. That LS will make mincemeat out of the stock one. The 12 bolt they used in the wagons will bolt straight in.

Super good work and informational. Shows its a way to build a budget ls and get reliability plus gas milage
@johnsuggs982210 ай бұрын
Straight forward, simple and informative channel. No fake drama, dog tricks, politics, life stories, long intros and unnecessary editing. Right to the point. The only thing I disagree with Krusty is the choice of DBC over DBW. I think DBW is simpler, more flexible and is free. The DBW parts come with your junkyard pull-out. Nothing to buy or convert. Lastly, if you do a swap, ditch the Turbo 350. The 4L60E's OD and lock-up converter will give you a huge gain in MPG. Let the PCM do the shifting.
@krustyclassicsgarage10 ай бұрын
Customer already swapped this car before he brought it to me. I prefer dbc. Less hassle with no starts, don't have to have another computer in the engine bay, don't have to change the gas pedal, and GM's DBW throttle bodies arent the best but, I appreciate you watching.

@@krustyclassicsgarage I'm following this video, and I have a question. My Caprice still has the original TH350 transmission, but eventually I'd like to swap it out for a 4l60 one day. Once I purchase a standalone harness kit, will it come with the wire needed to plug into the 4l60 transmission, or would it be wise to just purchase it as if I already have the transmission and just zip tie the wire until I swap the transmission?

I can't really find how the B bodies differ from the Seville K bodies of 76-79. They look similar enough, but that could be deceiving. I do know that K's are basically stretched X's. (Nova's), so it's probably doable. I remember there was an LS Seville swap thread a few years back, but I can't find it. Anyway, that's kind of my dream swap.

He’s gotta hook up his vacuum modulator on his tranny so it’ll shift like normal with out manually shifting. I used the dirty dingo adjustable plates and factory frame mounts for my 79 caprice. I got the Ls motor and turbo350 mounted in factory location and used the original drive shaft didn’t have to drill new holes for the cross member and I used a 87 grand national fuel sending unit with a walbro 255 intank fuel pump in the factory tank. Or you can use the 96 ss tanks and pumps. I swapped the fitting from the 305 PS pump to the Ls PS pump and used the factory 79 caprice PS pressure hose factory 79 caprice radiator with truck accessories Tahoe radiator hose 305 lower hose eBay computer Amazon harness. Cant say yes for sure. But if the stock engine mounts from the cadillac will bolt to the swap plates then im 99% sure the engine will bolt in. You'd just have to look at the transmission crossmember and see if the transmission mount from the LS transmission will bolt up.
