The Grinder Maw - in HSE regs, the grinders would need to have suitable guards to prevent injury and debris falling into the machinery below the blades - the closest approximation to this available in SE would be the windows over the top of them; the grinds blades would (theoretically) stick slightly 'though' this guard screen. There you go - a semi-game canon reason for putting the windows in, a perhaps better reason not to? It might lessen the flying parts and then they won't have a chance at decapitating you... Or the Space Invader... Or (Even better) DeCAPACitating a Capac when you get him back.

Placing catwalks over the grinders will stop small grid blocks from slipping between them. However, it won't ensure that they all get grinded down: based on my most recent testing (which was admittedly some time ago), the grinder area of effect doesn't quite reach the corners of the catwalk blocks. While the catwalk blocks certainly make it easier to manually cleanup any remaining small grid blocks, they do slow down the grinding process some. Without the catwalk blocks, the grid is able to press closer against the grinders and potentially bring blocks within range of a grinder that otherwise would be unable to reach any.

Something about a grinder pit is so satisfying. Nanobots are quicker and easier but nowhere near as fun. Splitsie builds an uber mothership while his lunar bedroom has been al fresco for most of the series. 🤔 This is not the Splitsie we're used to where decorating/greebling is highest priority. Last big ship I built was shaped like the bomber from The Last Jedi except it was huge. Everything was vertical so you'd have to climb up or down to get to the engineering room or production. Totally impractical. Main reason I did it was so I could hide most of the engines inside the hollow body/downwards fin. But it was fun building something that was different shaped.

I would put the hanger in the middle area of the ring going horizontal through the ship (where you have the cut out already.) it should be big enough for your Paprika and Wasabi (sp?) and could be fitted with proper hanger doors. It would be easy to impliment and easy to zip through each side, plus avoid complicated landings (each of you trying to avoid hitting each other when entering/exiting). Added bonus you can have a better tapper to the nose/mid part of the ship and easily line the side with thrusters and turrets that are clear out of the way of you (no cross fire lol) Overall I love that your building a big ship, I cant say I remember the last time if ever that you did for a series! It super exciting!!! Will this become your new base? Ik you talked about making the base mobile.

Not so long ago, the made adjustments to the propulsion calculations of the thrust dampeners. That to me means that subgrid shields are a thing. For those unfamiliar: IA will not shoot upowered blocks. That means that a subgrid without any block that shows on the progam menu. Wheels, botons, computers, etc. It can be made out of windows, catwalks, blast doors, etc. And I think it would be a cheaper, and cheaser, solution than the decoy launch. Specially with the upcoming automation blocks.

carrier building starts, great 🙂 and just a little anecdote about my own attempt at building one with assert thrusters a year ago.. your size, if you are going for some kind of a "line" with that shape and not a ball - is waaayy too big ;-) i did kind of the same, building a hull of 10 blocks length and projecting/welding the segments until i was about, thats good, now a front and a tail and space inside.. after 80 hrs trying to fill the inside (havin 5 hangars and reactors rooms, two bridges and, and, and... ...and my laptop no longer able to load the save, pc only it is..) i was kind of convinced that it is, in fact, a little big.

One thing that you could do with the mothership is place purposes built docks for the 'Ariel' and PoC, similar to the UNSC Infinity from halo 4. Those two smaller large grids could be basically be parasite frigates to bring heavier fire power for the fighters.

Also love how Fry telling Nibbler that "Scooty Puff Jr suuuucks!" in the past, results in him, instead, receiving "The DOOM Bringer: Scooty Puff Sr.". I'm also getting so greedy for these episodes! I'm always psyched when a new episode comes out, and super bummed out when it ends! Also... I'm sure this won't stick or anything... But I'd LOVE if you named your new carrier/big ship; "Scooty Puff Sr." Lol. Though, the; "Space Invader" would certainly be a much cooler name. :P But, whatever you decide to call it, it definitely has a lot of potential to be a really cool ship! I almost feel like with the way you've laid out its design, you can actually do a landing deck on two different levels of the ship, with an upper landing deck, and a lower one. One could even technically be a cargo bay where you would store a search thrusters you have stolen while you are out and about in it. You could even build that lower part out of heavy armor blocks. I feel like at the moment aside from finding Capac, you're number one top priority should be finding uranium. As soon as you can find that uranium you can start using nuclear reactors and begin to generate enough power to fuel the jump drives without having to mine out thousands of kilograms of ice in order to both power your hydrogen thrusters and power your hydrogen engines. .... But yeah, I'm just thinking out loud I guess. Can't wait to see where you go with the series, really loving it so far!!

Having watched the full video some comments on your big one. But quickly, your zero G miner can have an ejector hung off the side of the connector can;t it, one side has an open port and some space. Not a lot of capacity but still useful. 1. I think you may be making the Hanger space too small, your going to need a decent sized miner, and likely also a planetary lander capable of moving significant amounts of stuff up and down. With that in mind somthing that can handle your big miner really would be ideal, but i don;t think your going to have the space atm. Your also really, really, really, really, going to want somthing nastier than the H tram and the fighters eventually. Building it with them in mind makes expanding your firepower in dedicated ships much harder. You probably want to build with 4 or so big miner sized ships, plus a few fighters and the H tram plus a few other small support craft, (A welder ship and a small tug would probably both be useful, and i'm sure you can think of other things.). 2. Your probably also going to want a Fighter/H-Tram printer in there. Maybe even a printer that can handle bigger stuff. 3. Whilst building in a hanger big enough for Capacs ship is probably a bit too much you probably do want to think about how it's going to dock onto it. Some kind of cradle it can snug into would be good, preferably under the armour shell. 4. Whilst the armour shell is a great idea and i love it, i think it doesn't extend far enough. As is your probably just about going to have the volume to fit the main cargo and fuel tanks in that section, which is cool, but i suspect the subgrids are going to make the hanger a huge target as well. Not to mention how explosive some of the things in there could be. 5. T your going to want a dedicated and (again shielded), space for dissecting wrecks somwhere on the outside. Somewhere you can anchor them down where the armour shell protects them. 6. Your probably eventually going to build some more expendable lare grid stuff if past form is anything to go by, they won't need semi-protected docking like Capacs Big Tug, but your going to want to think in advance about where you might dock such things to avoid it messing anythign up. 7. Guns, lots of guns. Your probably going to want to plan out both the gatlings, (you can swap some of them for rotor turret small railguns later if you build in enough overlap), and some assault cannon turrets in addition to the spinal railgun mountings. Maybe even some artillery. Given the issues you've faced on the moon base at least 2, possibly 3 assembler's and refineries might be ideal.

problem being to make the salvaged parts to slide to the grinders. Because the voxel ground would be progressively damaged so ship won't drift to their end anymore and same if you create a slope with armor blocks. You could fit some wheels, but that will end with a over-engineered over-complicated contraption just to avoid few bits to fly away. Not worth the PITA to design it.
