What they don't mention though is the amount of time the non-stick will last and whether or not it is using toxic chemicals to be non-stick. Many of the cheaper ones both are toxic and won't last long at all. We got the commonly advertised blue diamond ones and it only stayed non-stick for about 3 months. We have tried a few others too, one of them had a thin film that was toxic and flaking into our food about 5 months after use. We just acquired Scanpan non-stick pans which are quite expensive but are non-toxic and people say they last 10-15 years+

I like getting my non-stick frying pans from restaurant supply stores. They tend to have thick, durable coatings, and are almost always heavy machined or cast aluminum, so they have pretty good thermal dispersion. They tend to be on the less expensive side as well. No non-stick pan is meant to last a lifetime. As long as you make your peace with that fact it's easy to shop for them, I think.

Allot of people have nailed the REAL question that none of these videos really seems to answer, how long does it remain non-stick? If your making an omelet, most pans last a couple of months at the most before they become useless for a quality omelet. I'd your having to buy 2 pans a year, it won't belong before a better pan is also a better value. I want to see these pans cook eggs 300+ times and then let's see which one is still non stick.

Ive been using my T-fal daily driver pan for eggs etc a good 7 years and its just now showing wear but still no peeling or damage to it. it still looks great. But i just got a new one to retire that one even though its still in perfect shape. If you Season them, and take care of them they will last. Just watch to never over heat, not past 175Celcius.

@@drift3434 T Fal depends greatly on which series you get. Their base lines aren't that great but some of the "pro" or "master" series are definitely dependable. I have a set of the Pros that I've been using for nearly 6 years now and most are still flawless. However, my 10" that gets used 5-6 times a week re4cently developed a relatively large spot on it where it has begun sticking. Still, though, 6 years out of a nonstick is pretty darn good. It all depends on the series.

They forgot about the toxic coating that was installed when making those pans and the least "non-stick" means that more toxic chemical has to be put on the top of the pan or throughout to give those effects (non-sticky) and also using the plastic spatula to take out the cooked egg would not be a good idea because the plastic spatula even though might do an easier job to take out any cooked food but still in the end is the toxic coating/mixture of the plastic material (spatula) together with the whole pan/pans.
@OriginalPuro

Did you notice he said he would never cook an egg without butter. I have a 5year old set of the All-Clad HA1 purchased at Home Goods, piece meal, and they are as good as the day I bought them. I have a 7 piece set. 4 skillets, a saute pan and 2 sauce pans, all with separate lids and spent a total of $280 plus taxes for all 7 pieces, including the lids That's $40 for an All-Clad skillet with a lid. Dirt cheap !!!!!!!

@spudthegreaterusa8386
@spudthegreaterusa8386 3 жыл бұрын
@@ctn830 Actually, I need to redo mine. I used it to sear steak, which it got so hot it burned of the season and now everything sticks. Initially i used a turkey fryer burner propane type to burn of the fabrication oils, and turn the metal all blue, then soap and water quick, with a copper brillo pad, rinse, reheat to dry out, then apply some oil on a wad of paper towels and let cool down. The big issue seems to be keeping the heat low enough not to burn off the season. It worked awesome for eggs and omelets and blin for a long time till I ruined it by over heating it. Seems to be a sweet spot for the heat particularly on an electric stove with coil burners . never go over 3 1/2 ...it gets plenty hot quick enough to fry an egg so it bubbles soon as it hits. If it doesn't bubble up you know it attached itself to the pan and your screwed.
