Fun fact: The character of Harry was added to the TARDIS team as the fourth Doctor was originally going to be played by an elderly man. Harry would have done some of the more active stuff in the stories that a Hartnell-like doctor would be unable to do. Once they auditioned Tom Baker, they cast him straight away and abandoned the older doctor plans.

I grew up in the seventies and watched Tom Baker on PBS on Saturdays. He is my favorite Dr. Who. Although I met David Tennant once at a Comic-con and he was so personable. I have almost all the sonic screwdrivers and other Who collectibles. I was saddened at the loss of Elisabeth Sladen and will openly weep when Tom Baker passes. I was an introverted and awkward kid growing up and Dr. Who let me escape to an amazing and wonderful world.
