Gumbo is a stew traditionally served over rice. Jambalaya is a rice dish where the rice is cooked in the juice of the meat after it's seared before introducing vegetables and the cooked meat back into the party. As a Cajun, they're two of my favorite foods. Glad you enjoyed your gumbo!
