Great video Alan, very entertaining. Could it be that our constant collecting of "stuff" is linked to the Hunter-Gatherer syndrome that lurks deep within our genes.....? Wishing you a verry Happy Christmas.

A festive delight, Alan, I enjoyed the intro great stuff, yes that camera gear doesn't half grow. I have one of those prism filters, they were probably a novelty before the likes of photoshop, I think I took one photo before realising that production of 12 duplicate images of something like a potted plant would soon lose its novelty value. You deserve a break, we look forward to seeing you come back and fresh and rejuvenated in the new year. Merry Christmas Alan and a Happy New year, I'm sure you will exceed 2000 subscribers in 2025. Cheers 🎄 🎅 🍺 🍻 🥳

Hahaha super video, love the hot shoe cover at the end :) All the best for Christmas and a healthy and wonderful new year, I'm sticking around for the ride, thanks for the excellent entertainment and photos over the last year, please don't feel pressed into making content, in your time. From Christmas past in the early 1980s I fancied seeing a Zenit photosniper in my Christmas stocking, probably not todays best choice for street photography... Cheers! Col.

For sure Colin, a Zenit Photosniper would land you in all sorts of bother (still an interesting bit of kit to gather dust though!). Making content keeps me active and helps the grey cells stay alive, so for now at least you are stuck with me. Merry Christmas to you!

A most excellent video. I wish I had only a table full. I have a garage full of motorcycles, camera gear, moving boxes full of God only knows what. The flat is full of audio gear, fishing gear, more camera gear, etc, etc Have a guess what I want for Christmas..... To wake up from this self made nightmare. Wanna cheap camera mate? Happy Christmas, love your show.

You can do it Clare..! Get stuck in and throw out some junk... De-clutter! Oh, but on the other hand you might just find a use for some of it one day 😂. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

Fun video and very true, we don’t throw “stuff” away just in case…. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!

Yes, I am convinced that we photographers have the phrase "just in case" embedded in our psyche! HAPPY CHRISTMAS to you.

Hi Alan, thank you for another year of entertaining informative videos. I have the neck strap with the knock off pdf bits, I avoided the sandisk hard drive but did get the TTArtisan led light shaped like a 35mm film canister, only good if you are within three inches of subject. Over the past year I have actually been making an effort to declutter, I’ve sold several cameras from my collection and given away bits and pieces but the main junk I am having trouble moving on are cameras bags of all descriptions……I must try harder. I wish you a great Christmas and a Happy New Year, keep up your superb videos.

Is it me or is your background not level? And yes, I've accumulated much paraphernalia and I should gather it all up and see what's trash and what's treasure. Santa is bringing me something that is in no way, shape, or form, a gadget that will never be used! I think you know what it is. Merry Christmas to you and the family Alan! Enjoyable watch! (I'm considering taking a break till after the New Year myself.) 💜

Yes TC, I think I know what Santa has for you. Merry Christmas to you and all your family over there!

haha!! great stuff Alan. Do I have most of the same stuff. No. I mean of course I do!! Lens pouches full of USB leads and caps did raise a chuckle I must say! As for ghosts of Christmas past, well you could resurrect some of those fr an April Fool video!! Merry Christmas Alan from all of here - especially Dexter 🙂

Thank you Dexter! I know you hated wearing it, but you looked so cute in your Elf outfit! Merry Christmas to you (The Boss), Nick and family. Have a lovely time all of you.

I'd like to unwrap a GFX 100s-ii with Fujis best prime for it . This years worst accessory : a leather camera bag sold by a leather worker in Montana..... but shipped from central China. It was on sale for 140.00, so I thought it was a steal. What i should have done was read the reviews before clicking (buy). I would have then spotted it 1. Would be a fake and 2. The website is Ai made. 3. It's definitely not made by a leather worker in Montona (course i saw that when i saw the tracking from Yun express in China. Sat there thinking "you Mfers! And shame on me for falling for it!) Sooo.. it came and as expected is junk. Fake straps and barely enough space to fit a om1 in it. Worst lens purchase of 2024: Laowa 18mm f0.95. I saw RED35s review and was excited. Except you can't shoot at 0.95 unless you want 90% of the subject blurred out and only a pen tip in focus. May as well get the 1.8 prime. Was pretty happy to sell that off

Well Eric, maybe if you have been a good guy then Santa might just squeeze that GFX100 down your chimney! If not, take solace in the fact that lots of us fall for the con artists. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
