Hi there, I hope you did enjoy this cinematic underwater video. I can proudly announce that this GoPro underwater film did take the 3rd place in the international german championship of underwater photo and videography (36th Camera Louis Boutan). A huge milestone for myself and times to celebrate. If you're interested in how the orginal GoPro underwater footage did look like and which GoPro underwater settings I did use, check out the link below to an unlisted video 😎 You will see the original GoPro 4k/60fps footage (no cutouts, no color grading, no black bars) of the video 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp3SXoV5rKaUnsU

Great Video - nice editing and awesome shots with the GoPro - The strength of the FPS is enormous and I am filming with a Sony a7SII with a 16-35mm and a Seacam Housing with 2 Keldan 8x. What lights are you using?

Hi Andre, and thanks a lot 🙏😊 Much appreciated! This project demanded really everything and more from me. Absolutely, the 60fps are doing a great job with the GoPro underwater. I use a single videolight (Fa&Mi) with 3000 lumen. I know that 2 lights are the better way and my video-light is also not the master of power, but that's my attitute: minimum input - maximum output. I'm still on my way and that's might never end 😆😅 Your Keldan lights are just awesome! I saw them in one of your videos 😍 However, your comment made my day...thanks for that.

What an awesome video. It's crazy how good GoPro cameras can be when you use them the right way. I have a few questions though: Are you adjusting the white balance before your dive or do you shoot with the native white balance option? And do you use any red filters (I know you used lights in some shots, but just asking in general)? Also, how do you get the shots to be that crystal clear (for example that eagle ray shot)? In my underwater footage, there is normally sediment or something in the water that makes it look less clear. Is that all editing and the dive conditions (it looks like at those dives you guys had a great visibility)? I hope you can give me some answers, would be much appreciated! Keep up the good work!

Hi Leo and thanks a lot 🙏😊 Yes, it's also really impressive for myself to see what a GoPro can do underwater. Sometimes I'm really stoked about my own underwater footage. It's more than awesome to get those quality underwater shots with a small budget. To your questions: I shoot only with "native", that brings you more opportunieties in post production and that's also never a wrong setting. No, I didn't use any filters. All colors are done in post production. A filter swallows useful light. That's a big problem with a small sensor of a GoPro. Yes, the visibilty was mostly really great, but not all the time. I would say you can slightly influence the visibility in the post production but you can't turn a snow blizzard into a sunny day. I hope that helps...have a nice day!
