No matter how awesome TOTK was and how many more times Nintendo will floor us in the future, nothing will ever beat the first time seeing BOTW's Hyrule for ourselves, either in trailers or in game. Even now, 7 years and multiple playthroughs later, I still get goosebumps seeing this video and I remember how incredible it felt the first time through. Nostalgia bomb man.

Thank you for making this!! Wow, what an incredible way to start this day-the day I get to play yet another Zelda game for the first time. This video brought me back to my very first impression of Zelda, when a group of older guys were at my house and beat Ocarina of Time. I missed the ending of the game, but I came in just in time to see the closing credits montage of all the different locations and environments. I was moved so deeply, and wanted to explore that world so badly. When the credits closed and The End was transfixed on the screen, the owner of the game powered off the N64, pulled out the game and put it in my hands. “Here, it’s your turn!” It was my first Zelda game. And today I get to relive that feeling over 2 decades later. It feels good to be a Zelda fan.

Words cannot describe how I felt watching this video. I literally don't know how to verbalize the feeling. Just know that I was drawn in, completely mesmerized the entire way through. I'd absolutely *LOVE* a similar style video for the other games in the series. We really don't take enough time to appreciate the different worlds of Hyrule and all the care Nintendo put into them. This video is getting saved to my favorites

This is the right way to play this game. Whoever plays it rushing like some speedrunner is missing the point. It reminded me of a conversation i had about Fable 1 the other day. Someone said it was a short game, like 9h to complete. I disagreed. If someone were to play through the story, beat by beat, going as fast as he could, he would maybe get to 10-11 hours, but he would be missing an enormous amount of extra content (and that aside from the replayability from having many choices on the main story). Fable runs on a simulation, social systems working on the background to make the world as alive as possible. Buy houses, rent, live in one of them with a wife (or husband), talk to people, change clothes, hairstyles, go fishing... like, there's so much of the world that would go unnoticed because people tend to consume a game as a product, desperate to go to the next one on the list. In closing, while he thought Fable was "short", i basically lost count of how many hours i put on that game, because sometimes i would boot it up just to visit that world.

Why are you shoving speedrunners into this like that lol You know what speedrunners actually do right?
@Rihcterwilker Жыл бұрын
@@dmclsl03 You need to practice some reading comprehension if what you got from my comment is that i am criticizing speedrunners.

There is no "right" way to play a game. Each and every person has different playstyles. If someone want to rush to the end or just not interested in the side content, it's fine. If someone want to play the game normally or enjoying every content, it's also fine. Everyone have fun in different ways. For example, in BotW, the player is given various option to approach their adventure. Maybe some players like a straightforward adventure, maybe some like to take a detour. The game lets the player to do whatever they want. But, if they skipped the side content and then complained that there's not enough content, then they're stupid. That aside, what do you think about Tears of the Kingdom? I'm really excited for it.

Thinking about the ways how TotK will be different from its predecessor, I think about how it probably won't "replace" BotW in every way. It's Nintendo, and considering how sequels are usually made, they probably came up with some lost features that this game had, TotK may lack, and of course, vice versa.
