My Dad had one back in the day it was Maroon on Black Landau. Nice car they were full frame built on the Lincoln line which is basically what they were. That dash looked really cool at night all those pods glowing green.

My second favorite T-Bird, after the SquareBird. But I'd take that one in a heartbeat. No matter what's wrong with it.

Some folks hated the styling of the 67 - 69 Birds, but loved the shark like front end . They weren't pasted over with bright work which gave them a simple elegance. I especially loved the 4 door Landaus with the suicide doors. Very cool.

I drove one to mexico back in nineteen sixty seven. Great ride and very fast. Late sixty seven was the year so it could of been a sixty eight. Too long ago for me to remember but same colors inside and out. That car had problems with the fuel pump as well. Figured because it had a double diaphragm fuel pump and put too much pressure on the pump to keep it going right. We put a electric wiper motor in it, sacrificed the pump vacuum system for a rig that stayed running. If its a car you like, you restore it. I don't know if its a popular car or not but its in decent enough shape that after a year of chasing rust issues, should last another seventy years. I do believe they had started using galvanized steel in that model rigs. That was the reason for many rigs of mid fifties and sixties died early. Only one plant ford had used galvanization in their production of cars and trucks

@@morgansword I appreciate you sharing your story and your knowledge on this car. Funny, I remember the commercials where they were touting the use of galvanized steel back in the day.

For me, this is a top 10 wish list car. High school in the mid to late 1970s, a friend owned a 1968 like this one with no vinyl top, but dark blue paint. The 429 Thunder Jet in that car was a beast. With 4 or 5 guys in the car, it would outrun Camaros and other pony-muscle cars at any stoplight. And it was comfortable and quiet inside. Typically there would be weed smoke rolling out of the windows. Good times, gasoline under 50 cents/ gallon...

How much for the bird? Grew up with my parents (who separated) and they had a 69- My dad always promised me that car but due to his booze habit ended up selling it.. It was a black with white vinyl top (No "hearse crest"-which i dislike) with black interior. This is close enough... I prefer the plain roof
