1st time watching.....the Pontiac's drew me in. I was about 10 when these were new. Every year we went to the dealerships to see all of the new models, Pontiac's included (Car Dad, we had a few of them and many others). I'll be watching.
@ChiefClassicsАй бұрын
Back when the cars looked different every year! Bet that was a sight to see
@kbVACArestatecarsnrvsАй бұрын
@@ChiefClassics It was something we looked forward to and the dealers always gave away stuff and had food/drinks. And the sight to behold was not only the hot cars, but the sticker prices that were never again! I worked for two dealerships (Chevy and Chrysler-Plymouth) all of my years of high school. That was fun too! I got to be in every one of them since I checked them in straight off of the carriers until delivery. Those were the days and so glad so many survived and didn't go the way of the junkyards that claimed many, and so did the crushers.

Well now I have Pontiacitis!! Thank you Very Much! What am I gonna do now?? You see my first main ride when I was 16 with my first "Serious" Girlfriend at the same time. It was an awesome 1976 Bonneville with the 400CI plant from a 1970 Firebird. I tooled that baby around like it owed me Money it's life and an Apology!! It literally went over 160MPH!! NO JOKE! Highway geared to cruse I would hold that pedal down on a blast from my girl;friends place 27 Miles away at 330AM in Northern Alberta, Canada! (Grande Prairie to Hythe through Beaverlodge and back again). Trust me there was NO ONE on that highway. It would bury the needle all the way past the 120MPH mark around to almost past the "H" in MPH at the bottom of the speedometer!! It was like going in slow motion after a few minutes. Everything changed and that beautiful ol gal would just float over the highway of which I knew ever inch! I must have freaked out anyone that was at any position on the highway that might have witnessed me! God was watching over me too! The Angels like to race! But that's enough of this story! Hope someone reads it. Might be fun. Oh the transmission finally started to fail a few years later. We sold her off for cheap.

Love the channel and the Pontiac content. My Dad had a Canadian 1963 Parisienne which I think was pretty rare: tt was black with red interior, buckets, console, powerglide with floor shifter, manual steering and brakes with a chevy 283. I never saw another one like it. Keep up the great work!
@bigmountain7561Ай бұрын
Jeff since that is a one year only Ragtop Prix it honestly needs to be restored. Out of the 5000 and change that were built honestly how many do you think that are left. Great Videos Thank You 🙏 and Happy Holidays to You and the Family!!!

My dad bought one of these brand new in 1967. White/Black/Black with a 428 and a 4 speed. He said it was one of the worst cars he owned. Within the 1st week of owning it, one of the head gaskets blew. It was found that the head bolts weren't properly torqued at the factory by the dealer during disassembly. Then it got hit on all 4 corners while parked during 1 winter.

All of the big boat Pontiacs between 1967 to 1970 are notorious for the linkage from the gas pedal to the carburetor breaking. I know this from personal experience. Left stranded in 1978. We had to use speaker wire tied to the carburetor to make at home.
